It’s a null tell at worst and a scum tell at best, no? I’ve never seen him do this before, but we’ll see if he can actually link any games where he has.

I’m still catching up so if he’s done something even more off I’ll reevaluate.

But look at the Perd ran Vanilla+ that recently ended on POG. He’s in narrator mode and isn’t giving a lot of reads. He was similar in HDM as scum.

I can’t recall a specific town game where he’s done it to this extent, but him making a lot of thin reads doesn’t match up to the scum game of his I’m accustomed to.

No, I’m not sure he’s scum - I’m saying that by implying he must be either scum or the seer to know that you are oh-so-definitely a townie you’re making implications without anything to back them up.

1. He doesn’t have to definitely know I’m town to make that post. He can make that post as a regular townie for fakepeek purposes (although you guys don’t do that here, old habits die hard, etc.).

I can’t even fathom anybody thinking that way who has even the slightest understanding of how vital seers are. This is ridiculous.

I don’t think anyone’s saying that lynching the seer is cool, I think it’s more that you have no way of knowing for sure if he’s really the seer. And if he’s really the seer, going around accusing multiple people of being Scum without any explanation (and we still haven’t gotten one, BTW) is a bad, bad idea. So if he truly does have an investigative role, he’s playing terribly, therefore I can lean toward the fact that he is likely NOT the seer, as I doubt the seer would have played that way.

What I find concerning is that you know all this, and concede that there are multiple reasons why he might be able to know your alignment, one of which is that he’s Scum, but you’re leaning toward him being the seer despite his demonstrably poor play for a Town seer, and you’re currently defending him heartily even though you see all the WIFOM involed in doing so.

Ok, let me say it another way: when he dies, it should be by nightkill and not by lynch. Our vigs will figure out what they do pretty damn quickly and should be able to take care of it.

OK, I have 0 time to play. obv I’m not going to spam the thread longer than 10 min at a time or make huge read posts especially since this damn forum doesn’t work on my phone. I can guarantee you can see why I made the reads I did on all my unexplained read posts, that’s why I didn’t really care enough to write it out.

I read the discussion but didn’t partake in it because it was superfluous and an easy way for wolves to hide is by talking strat. I left the fakepeek as a sort of rebellion against the no fakepeek meta, as after reading both sides I feel fakepeek meta is optimal for villagers, though god knows if I’m right.

Did you miss the part where everyone has a power role and don’t know what they are yet?
With 2 different play styles here it would behoove a villager (if you are one) to attempt to compromise.
Otherboard investigators may be accustomed to this but this boards investigators will be hindered.
You are beginning to sound like you are just going to play your way and damn the customs here?

I thought I had sort of explained that, I was in a hurry, I have no idea when EOD is and I wanted to get a vote in. Then** Ed** really got my goat by voting for me and now I have 3 votes.

Anyway,** Peeker** went from being normal to “effing and blinding” all over the place as if to prove a point. What it said to me though was that he was trying to get his “normal” style of play back and went OTT.

I’m not saying it’s more likely that he’s a seer, in fact it’s pretty clear that it’s LESS likely than any other possibility. But there’s still a significant chance that he IS a seer, even if it isn’t the most likely scenario, and in the event that he actually is what he’s representing, lynching him would be awful. In other words, it’s better to let him live for a day if he’s scum than it is to lynch him d1 if he’s the seer. I’m choosing the route that has the lesser penalty for being wrong imo, although people here disagree with that because they don’t seem to value their PRs as much as we do on the other board, so I’m catching hell for it.

I think we ALL need to be on the lookout for voting based on cultural differences that look like tells.

yes and no. we don’t want our biases to cloud our judgment but what’s to stop scum from taking advantage of our hesitation to vote for players from the other board?

from what i’ve seen Krayz has been doing weird stuff but i’m not ready to call it scummy.

not hot about peeker’s case. lot of meta here. haven’t played with him much. just one game so i can’t say.

i’ll Vote Texcat for her vote on Mykbot. scum tend to play safe and not make controversial statements or potentially bad ones so i’m leaning/soft clearing **Mykbot **. voting for a bad idea is opportunistic. the OMGUS on lilflower makes me even more suspicious.

First things first, this game is moving with a speed that I have NEVER even dreamed of seeing for a Mafia game. I guess this means I’m closer to a regular volume poster than I thought, my attempts to post more than Peeker be damned. (And even then, I wasn’t actually trying for the record, things just happened.)

I have real concerns with the speed of this game, to the point that I am already considering dropping out. There is no way I can mod my own game, hold down my job and play in a game that moves this fast. Something has to go, and it’s obvious to me what to pick.

However, I’m still here.

Krayz, you ping the hell out of me. Are you sure you aren’t Pleonast?

You come off with an air pretentiousness that Pleonast can only dream of. You are at best guessing about things that you can’t possibly know yet. The voice you are using here, and indeed in other posts, is condescending to the rest of us. Either play the game, or comment on it, not both. I’m not sure if I can explain it any better than this, but if I had to summarize:

Both of the above come together. I already feel like I can’t give this game the time I need to give it. I get the feeling you could give this game the time you need to give it but you won’t. I’ve voted Pleonast in other games for less. You might not have claimed yet, but I wouldn’t hold it against you. As for Pleonast, as for you, you are holding the game to your standard, and that in turn breaks the game, and does not make it better.

I don’t like this post either.

“You’re condescending when giving your reads” is not a good reason to vote for someone, especially when you don’t even comment on whether or not you agree with what he’s saying.

I guess it can be explained by the differences in us being used to stating thin reads while you guys like to wait to make reads with more info as I discussed before, but still a bad reason for a vote imo

Peeking (or investigating or whatever you call it) is one action. That action can be performed by multiple players. Ruling out n0 peeks based on mod wording doesn’t seem wise.

You are saying that even though the Mod said that ONE night action went through, it could have been a group of actions by the one role?

Still wouldn’t explain ONE player claiming two results Night 0

I assume you think that because of his playstyle, i.e., he knows he is the fool and is playing the part. But how would he know that? Wouldn’t he have to have gotten a result last Night? If so, are you saying **AskthePizzaGuy **is lying?
