NOT useless at all
You are missing our point.
I disagree with you, crackdequads. Strongly.
My vote as a Villager is there to eliminate Wolves, and my job as a Villager is to sway others to my way of thinking when I believe I’ve found a wolf (and yes, I recognize the irony of my saying so). A FOS does nothing towards that, and means nothing in the long run (unless, as NAF in this game, I believe I’ve found another wolf but am happy with my vote where it is).
And particularly when I am not sold on any of the cases on the lynch leaders (as I am not at the moment, though I’m not going to be surprised to find out I’m wrong about peeker because he’s being awfully defensive), I’m not going to vote for one of them.
This and the post of mine you quoted from earlier pretty much sums up our discussion right now. We just play a different way.
I’m not telling you who to vote for (although I obviously have a preference), I’m just telling you guys on random 1 person wagons are wasting your votes. Your wolf preference is perfectly known by you simply telling us who you think is a wolf. Don’t waste your vote making the same point.
If you don’t think one of the lead wagons is a wolf, then use your vote to save who you think is the most likely villager out of that bunch.
I have to say, crackedquads has been pinging the bejeezus out of me over the last couple of pages. His whole “c’mon Town, let’s all pull together and choose one of these vote leaders!” cheerleading seems really off to me. The vibe I’m getting from him is wolf who sees one or two of his wolf buddies (peeker, maybe Krayz as well) in trouble and is fishing around to see if he can save them or, barring that, get some Town cred out of the whole deal. Hence the vote on peeker once peeker is safely a couple of votes behind Krayz.
I’m also dubious of statements like the one I quoted. It seems awfully…naive for a seasoned player to say something like that.
I’ve been trying (mostly in vain) to keep up with the thread today, but haven’t had any time to give it any serious consideration until now. It seems to me that both peeker and Krayz are getting heat for being ‘loud’, and frankly I haven’t been able to follow closely enough to really understand the cases on TexCat and Silver Jan.
And I have 37 minutes before a conference call, so I doubt I’m going to be able to do a thorough read of the day’s posts before EoD. Unless something really pops out at me, or someone can come up with a persuasive argument in the next few minutes, I’ll be standing pat Today.
that’s chickenshit. never done and never will except in the following instance. over here if we are something important (a peeker for instance or doc) we claim to cheat the hangman. but since i have no clue whether my role is more valuable than someone else’s role then how could i do that?
So my grand plan is to wait until 2 hours before eod and try to lynch my fellow wolf who (at the time I voted for him) was 2 votes away from the lead wagon. I then go on to try to get another player to also vote for my fellow wolf, and then I go even further and try to get the rest of the village to change their votes from 1 vote wagons onto one of the lead wagons, which includes my wolf partner who I am voting for.
That is an abysmal theory.
What and lose face if a few days later you realize your Day 1 vote saved a wolf? he asked crackedquads teasingly.
Your username makes me think of some poor runner whose thighs are chapped and bleeding. It’s really gross in my head.
I’m of a similar mind to this statement you’re so dubious of. I don’t think the one-offers should be compelled to move to a front-runner, but it can be advantageous to Town, and if they have a preference among the front-runners, it can best to move a one-off vote to a front-runner, IMO. It depends on the circumstances.
The flip side to townies staunchly defending their lone choice as the scummiest of the scummy is that scum can also hunker down on a vote and make the same argument. So we don’t really end up moving anywhere.
It was just one hypothesis I came up with to explain the weird vibe I was getting off of your posting (which started two hours ago, thus three hours before eod). Since toNight could be a bloodbath, I wanted to get my suspicions out there in case I die.
Besides, it’s not impossible: peeker (who I believe to be a wolf) is crafty. I could easily see him telling you to vote for him once there were multiple vote leaders. It would be a gamble that could pay off dividends in later Days.
and now that i re read the whole quacked debacle i put myself in rather than stopping at the i am not voting peeker blah blah blah i should have been a little more along the lines of: i am not voting him for this dumbass reason i am voting for this uber dumbass reason. hope that ease the misunderstanding.
Oh yeah, that clears things right up.
:dubious:
At the time of this post you’re on a top three candidate.
I’ve seen a couple people discuss Ed, but I was right on page with him during his explanation of the Jan vote. Why do you wish to vote him?
+100
That wagon is bad. Really bad. A bunch of people piled on including someone’s only post (as CQ pointed out) and Meeko who only voted him because he sounded condescending while giving his reads.
He’s acting different than what you guys are used to, and while he’s not acting exactly the same as he normally does to us, it is NOT something in line with his scum game that I’m accustomed to. But it’s an easy wagon for scum to pile on because, well, who’s going to stand up for him?
lol! I’m going to let you clear me on your own time, and then I’ll let you know if I find it in line with how I think you’d do it. ![]()
Cracked, most of your posts here towards eod have been villagery, but I hate this one. I’ve already had the conversation with dancecat that I’m more apt to clear her for being skeptical of me than for clearing me asap, and now you chime in essentially saying “im always gonna be skeptical”.
The rest of your posts have seemed town like I said, but I’m going to keep an eye on you.
I so badly hope so. I’m positively salivating at the possibility of carnage on a scale not yet seen on this board.
(Or was I the only one who got a semi the Day after Zeriel targeted NPHase in Genre Fiction?)
That’s going to happen, absolutely. Sometimes you save a wolf, sometimes you lynch a villager. Mistakes happen. It’s worth the tradeoff in the long run though.
As villagers, we can’t sit on the sidelines as the entire wolf team guides the day’s lynch. Do you think the wolves are content with letting their votes go to waste? Not if they can save wolves. You as a villager need to take the same mindset. Sometimes it’s not always about casting a useless for who you think is a wolf just to make a point, but rather cast your vote in a way that is useful to the village as a whole, which could help save villagers.
And just as sometimes working as I do will cause myself to mislynch a villager or save a wolf on occasion, the same blood is on your hands when mislynches happen because you sat on the side lines while villagers brave enough to not throw away votes got ran over by the wolf team, who sure as hell isn’t sitting it out.
I think the key phrase here is “if they have a preference among the front-runners.” I see a lot of players at least commenting on the lead candidates and saying the don’t agree with the cases made and that’s fine.
Normally I would 100% agree with voting for whoever you find scummy regardless of how many other votes that person has. What makes me nervous in this game is the tie-breaker rules and I think it could really hurt town.
I think we just all need to be very aware of when there is a tie and be sure to evaluate those that are tied with a little extra scrutiny and actually, that’s probably true whether you voted for them or not.
I’m smelling what you’re smoking, don’t worry. It’s a joke because if you haven’t noticed already, over here we tend to be loathe to change votes and look very askance at people who treat them like paper napkins.
and i am not <snipping> another quote this game.
NO NO NO. vote for who you think is farcking scum. it’s never advantageous to town to move votes to a front runner under the auspice of well the original was a “throwaway” and i had to pick the most scummy of the front runners. jeebus what the fuck do they feed you “over there”? fuck town is supposed to kill scum not kill the least bad of crappy choices.
aaaaiiiiiiithefuckingeeeeeeee.
well since you are scum i would expect this type of remark.
