I’d agree with you absent any other information, but the fact that one of the supposed masons voted for the other on Day one makes me think it’s more likely that Jan is telling the truth than they are. I can’t see any reason at all why a Town mason would vote for the one person they knew was confirmed Town, particularly when it makes them the vote leader.
I suspect that TexCat forgot about that vote when she revealed her supposed Masonry with gnarlycharlie, hence her current silence.
According to **TexCat’s **claim, **gnarlycharlie **targeted **TexCat **on Night 1; that’s when they discovered that they were Masons together. In that case, the fact that **gnarlycharlie **voted for **TexCat **on Day 1 is completely irrelevant.
Okay, I see that Jan gave us more. So, Jan, did you get two results? It seems like the others who got messages also claimed they got a result or non-result.
I’m also not really comfortable lynching a supposed mason, especially since he hasn’t been in to actually make a claim.
Anyway, now that I’m a bit less panicked, here’s what I think might be happening. Either Jan is scum and saw the message that Idle claimed and her (and Ben, whom I’d theorize is her scum partner) thought they were caught and figured they could at least drag someone down with them. The other possibility is that she’s telling the truth and the scum think she’s the Seer, so TexCat panicked and claimed mason with Gnarly to try to get us to lynch her first instead.
Overall, I’m thinking we have either a TexCat/Gnarly scum pair or Ben/Jan pair.
Anyway, in light of this new information and Jan opening her bag, I’ll unvote…
I think that’s too quaint, myself. While not impossible, it sounds like something someone would say as an excuse/out and to make it harder to show they’re lying.

Let me make sure I have this right, regarding** Silver Jan**:
Jan submitted a target for her Night 1 action before the end of the Day.
Jan is asked to submit a conditional 2nd target in case her first target is lynched at the end of the Day.
Jan submits a second target, who is gnarlycharlie.
Jan’s first target is not lynched at the end of the Day.
Jan receives a message stating that **gnarlycharlie **is a Wolf.
Assuming she is telling the truth, then her Night action targeted someone other than gnarlycharlie, which means:

Any way you slice it, it’s a rather strange coincidence that Jan happened to receive information on the player that was her conditional 2nd target (who, according to the setup, she did *not *actually target).
I got called in to work today, and don’t have time to read the thread, so I have no idea what’s going on. From the last few posts, it looks like gnarlycharlie and Texcat have claimed mason, and Silver Jan is calling gnarly scum.
I got a message in the night that Texcat was a mason, and town. I don’t know why I got it, because I didn’t target her. I know a couple more things about how it works, but I will save that for once I have read the thread to see if it useful to reveal.

I agree. I think at this point I’m inclined to believe that the Mason claim seems a little convenient. Not to mention, TexCat was another possible person that the Krayz wagon may have been engineered to save, so it’s not unlikely that she saw this claim, knowing that it would largely clear Jan, and that Ben would probably still go down eventually, so she would be the obvious candidate for who the Krayz wagon was saved. So, she might as well put her neck on the line now and hope to get a potential Seer dead.
The risk here is losing a possible mason, but it also seems to be a pretty good fit for the events of Yesterday and Today. So, we need to settle this out. I’d still like to hear from Charlie though.

Hey, big surprise given your earlier lazy vote, that you’d rather put it on me than resolve a fairly obvious scenario where we can catch two scum. An awful lot of smudging on me with no substance at all since you voted me earlier in the day for my vote on Ben. You’re striking me as an overly defensive scum seeing his team going down in flames right now. I’ll have to do an analysis of you after we get all this crap sorted out.
Ah, I read TexCat’s post about the role reveal to mean that their roles were revealed at the outset. Rereading the post shows that your interpretation makes more sense:
gnarly’s vote on TexCat is then consistent with a Night 1 target, since from his vote we know he suspected her of being scum and thus would target her if he thought he might be a Vig / Seer.
So I think that puts us back to a he said/she said between Jan and gnarly+TexCat.
Something to think about, too. Now Dancecat’s vote does make some sense. Obviously someone is lying. The question is whose lynch is most likely to gain us the most information.
As for the rest of your post, you are correct. It’s also possible that if there is a second role like that, they were blocked the first Night.
Holy crap, things just keep getting more interesting. Given the number of players that are reporting information like this (alignments of players they didn’t investigate), I’ll go ahead and add my own data point to the pile:
I got a message during the night that Blaster Master is a Villager. I did not target him – this was mentioned after giving the outcome of my Night action.
Question #1: quite a few people have received unsolicited alignment information on other players. Can we be sure all this information is accurate?
Question #2: who do we lynch?
I’m inclined to not lynch gnarlycharlie at this point, now that two separate players claim to have received mod information that confirms his status as Town mason. Which I guess leaves Jan, though I’m not sure what we conclude if she flips Town apart from the fact that these messages are untrustworthy…
