I think that whoever we decide to lynch toDay among Jan, **gnarly **or **Texcat **is going to give us some good information, especially in light of Weedy’s claim.
I have to say, though, that there seems to be an awful lot of secret messages going on in the Night and I have a hard time believing that they are all true. As for Weedy, why did he get a message about Texcat’s role and alignment when everyone else just got alignment?
I’m happy with my vote on **gnarlycharlie **at this point. If he is scum, I think **Texcat **and Weedy must also be scum.
Yeah, with Weedy’s revelation, I’m not sure anymore either.
I do remember someone mentioning earlier (Dancecat, maybe?) that there was a wolf who was also a mason in the last Mishmash game, so that could be something to ponder…
..but right now that’s three (counting gnarly here because he’s obviously not going to say “Yes! I admit it! I’m a wolf!”) players against one about gnarly’s alignment. Three “masons” to one “wolf”.

I want to reiterate that **Weedy **is the only one claiming to have gotten a **role **in his secret PM. If we are going to play what doesn’t belong, this is it.
Something just occurred to me: are we playing the “fakepeek” game? If so, it’s really annoying.
You make a good point, but at this point if one of them is lying then they all are probably lying, and frankly, I can’t see THREE scum risking their gamelives on one claim.
I was all for voting **gnarly **until Weedy came out with that…two scum claiming false mason is risky at BEST. But three? No way, sorry, I have to give them the benefit of the doubt, now, if anyone.

If I’m not mistaken, four players claim to have received messages last Night regarding the alignment of other players…
Idle Thoughts was told that **Dancecat **is a Villager
Scuba_Ben was told that Silver Jan is a Villager
Silver Jan was told that **gnarlycharlie **is wolf
**Weedy **was told that **Texcat **is a Mason, and a Villager
…and in none of these cases did the person receiving the information target the player they ‘peeked’.
Add in **Texcat’s **info on **gnarlycharlie ** being a Mason, and a Villager (received because gnarly targeted him), and we have ***five ***players who received alignment-related information through no apparent effort of their own.
I’m not sure what it all means, but I have a feeling it’ll be *brilliant *once we work it all out

I agree – I shared my result more because I think the sheer volume of messages is a data point Town needs to have than anything else. Had there only been one or two, I’d be inclined to assume we had Seers running into Reflectors / Redirectors. Now that we’re up to five (I think), I personally am more dubious that all of them are true.
Gadarene made a big point of talking about messages in the beginning, so I’m guessing this is an important part of the overall dynamic. I think it would be naive to assume that Town is simply going to get handed five accurate investigation results on Day two – scum must have some way to either send false messages or scramble the messages that Town receives.
Ok, so at the point where Silver Jan accuses gnarly of being a wolf, the logical course of action is to lynch him. (Well, there’s an argument for the most logical course of action being a vig taking him out in the night and we lynch from the pool of unknowns. But given that the only vig we are sure of is dead and while I would never doubt ATPG, I think it’s a bit premature to just assume he is the other vig, we really can’t rely on that method.) If he’s town and we lynch him, we reveal a wolf, Silver Jan at the cost of a mislynch. If he’s a wolf and we lynch him we don’t mislynch but we have exposed a role who is capable of receiving seer results. (Some have suggested everyone who targeted Naf and Septimus target Silver Jan if we lynch gnarly and she’s right. I would go a bit further and say if you got no apparent result for your night action and your target is still alive, you should target Silver Jan.) At this point Texcat claims to be in a masonry with gnarlycharlie and that they discovered each other last Night. If gnarly is scum, I don’t understand why Texcat would do this. Given a choice between lynching gnarly, texcat, or silver jan, I would want to lynch gnarly. His flip will either buttress or demolish both texcat and silver jan’s claims. If he flips town, we plan on lynching Silver Jan and Texcat is free to continue searching for other masons. And I don’t think this logic is too hidden so I have to assume that the scum team sees it as well. Given that, if gnarly got fingered as a wolf, a scum texcat should be hanging back, not leaping into the fray and linking himself irretrievably with gnarly. Now, Weedy shows up and says that he got a message that Texcat is a town and a mason. (I agree with whoever said it upthread that in terms of messages this one stands out like a fart in church with alignment and role information.) Clearly not every message can be true. Therefore none of the messages can be assumed to be true. And if Silver Jan is telling the truth then it really looks to me like half the friggin scum team just outed themselves and I just can’t believe that’s true.
So, I’m feeling like it needs to be a decision between Silver Jan and gnarlycharlie. The weight of the messages seems to point at lynching Silver Jan, but Weedy’s message makes me raise an eyebrow and my gut would rather see gnarly dead than someone who appears to be getting cop results.

Bleah, my brain went at a different speed than my hands. As I composed the last post I kind of questioned some of the assumptions I made at the beginning. I do not think right now, that anyone who thinks they could be a protective town power should target Silver Jan necessarily but it should be on the table. The townies we try to protect are obviously going to change based on who we trust and who we lynch.
