Wait a minute - no objection to David Soul yet James Darren is rejected? Granted James Darren was never the die-hard, rock-til-you-drop, “just turned 18 and I don’t mind dyin” type of rock star … but compared to David Soul he sure is. 
It was on Trek Today or Trek nation or some such site. It may have been several members of the band as well.
Since I have never actually heard the band or been to any of their concerts, I did not know of their status beyond having heard their name here and there. No insults were intended.

Sure, they’re rock stars, but when did Wayne (or his cohorts) ever appear in a Trek TV show or movie? That’s what I can’t find a cite for.
