Not a rock star, but Wayne Coyne of Flaming Lips appeared in an episode of Enterprise–I think in the 3rd or 4th season.

I can’t substantiate this; his bio at Wikipedia and IMDB don’t mention any Trek. Cite?

I can’t think of any rock stars, but a few persons famous in other fields have made appearances. Basketball Hall-of-Famer James Worthy comes to mind (he played The World’s Tallest Klingon on an episode of TNG). I think astronaut Mae Jamison has been on, as well as physicist Stephen Hawking.

Elendil’s Heir
Wait a minute - no objection to David Soul yet James Darren is rejected? Granted James Darren was never the die-hard, rock-til-you-drop, “just turned 18 and I don’t mind dyin” type of rock star … but compared to David Soul he sure is. ![]()

It was on Trek Today or Trek nation or some such site. It may have been several members of the band as well.
Since I have never actually heard the band or been to any of their concerts, I did not know of their status beyond having heard their name here and there. No insults were intended.
Then let me educate you. From wikipedia:

During large-crowd festival performances, Wayne makes his entrance by descending from space in a bubble, and floating across the audience to the stage. Coyne has also been known to pour fake blood down his face via a hidden tube during live shows, usually during the track “The Spark that Bled” which features lyrics about cutting yourself on the head without realizing it.

That sounds like a rock star to me. I mean you don’t get much more mellodramatic.

Sure, they’re rock stars, but when did Wayne (or his cohorts) ever appear in a Trek TV show or movie? That’s what I can’t find a cite for.

:smack: sorry–memory glitch. It wasn’t Coyne. However, it was another Lip or two:

Chekov’s first hair cut ( a wig) was to make him look sort of Davy Jones/Beatles-ish to appeal to the teeny-boppers.
