Name rock stars who appeared on Star Trek

I can think of three:

Michelle Philips from the Mamas and the Papas appeared on TNG
Mick Fleetwood from Fleetwood Mac also appeared on TNG
Iggy Pop was in DS9

Any others? A friend of mine is starting up a monthly night of Star Trek viewing, and each month will have a different theme. Apparently he’s planning a “rock star guest star” night, and asked for my help.

I suggested Michelle Philips (he’d forgotten her) and James Darren (“Vic Fontaine” on DS9); he took Philips but rejected Darren as “not a rock star.”

Are there any other rock stars who appeared in any Trek series? Anyone who says “William Shatner” gets phasered.

If Shatner gets me phasered, how about Nimoy?

I can’t think of any rock stars, but a few persons famous in other fields have made appearances. Basketball Hall-of-Famer James Worthy comes to mind (he played The World’s Tallest Klingon on an episode of TNG). I think astronaut Mae Jamison has been on, as well as physicist Stephen Hawking.

Does being in Barnes and Barnes make Bill Mumy a rock star?

Apparently Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine had a cameo on Enterprise.

Craig Huxley, who appeared in two TOS episodes, is a professional musician. He played keyboards on Michael Jackson’s Thriller!

Does John Tesh count? Okay, probably not as a rock star…

John Tesh most certainly does not!

Vanessa Williams guest starred on DS9.

Go-Go’s guitarist Jane Wiedlin was an alien communications officer in the movie “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.”

Those dudes who called everybody Herbert were pretty rockin.

CMC +fnord!
Yes, the complete, uncut B&W version. 'Cause if your going to make yourself suffer you really should go all out!

Not a rock star, but Wayne Coyne of Flaming Lips appeared in an episode of Enterprise–I think in the 3rd or 4th season. He’s a friend of Connor Trinneer, who played Trip.

How’s that for obscure trivia?

I don’t understand how you can say that Wayne Coyne is not a rock star. What else is he?

David Soul, later better known for Starsky & Hutch but who also was a one-hit wonder of a singer with “Don’t Give Up On Us, Baby,” was in ST:TOS “The Apple”: http://v3.startrek.cz/startrek/dily/obrazky/38-4.jpg

Dude, The Flaming Lips produced two of the best rock albums in the last 15 years. Wayne Coyne is not just a rock star, he’s a rock galaxy, man!
Suddenly everything has changed…

<golf clap> Well played, sir. Well played, indeed.
