My brother just got a parakeet and needs a name for it (and if he’s on this board, I just blew my cover).
It’s green and yellow and looks like this. Anyone care to make any suggestions?
Kricket’s thread help name my bird here had some good ideas for parakeet names. 'Course I think “Perry” wouldn’t work for a green and yellow bird. I change my vote to Onan.
I once took a class on history of manuscript painting with a well-respected art historian, and when we were studying Merovingian painting (the guys just before the Carolingians; yes, there’s going to be a point in here, eventually), as he would note some abbot or painter’s amazingly bizarre early-frankish name, he’d suggest, “Oh, so if you ever are looking for a name for a parakeet. . .”
So my suggestions: Godelgaudus or Gundolhinous. I may be spelling them incorrectly.
Since it’s mostly yellow, how about “Saffron”?
