name this film: spellcasting sexually ambiguous street kids

a long time ago on some email group long forgottenwe were discussing the comic series hellblazer / john constantine. someone mentioned seeing a film wear the main character reminded him of john constantine. the plot involved young adults from the street culture doing magic (the spell kind) and partying and so forth, some of them might have been bi or otherwise sexually ambiguous. does anyone know the name of this film?

sexually amibuous character, street kids, magic - - sounds like an Elmo movie possibly this one http://www.bestprices.com/cgi-bin/vlink/074645145396IE

Sounds vaguely like the gist of the graphic novel The Invisibles , by Grant Morrison and published by Vertigo. The plot is much deeper than that, but the protagonists fit the bill. I don’t believe it was ever put to film, though.

ADiod it take place in new England?

Brimstone & Treacle partially fits the bill. I think it was strongly one inspiration for the Constantine character. A young-ish Sting plays a dissolute con man whose depraved actions have positive and negative impacts on a very troubled family.

Not much in the way of street kids or sexual ambiguity, though.

Maybe you’re thinking of The Craft? With Neve Campbell, I think?

Nah, they weren’t street kids, they were posh private-school girls. The best I’m coming up with is My Own Private Idaho, but I don’t remember anything in the way of magic. Sexually ambiguous street kids, however …

:smack: Of course they were! I think maybe my memory was adding plot bits from Wild Things (that movie had a superfluity of plot points), also starring Neve Campbell. There was definitely sexually ambiguous street kids in that.

Back to the OP - Maybe The Lost Boys? Partying, sexually ambiguous, street kids - vampires instead of magic, though.

I remember this movie although I don’t recall the name.

Nah, Wild Things was all about rich, spoiled suburban kids with a token trailer park vixen. Not so much sexually ambiguous as flat out hedonistic I suppose too.

Pajama Party? It has Martians rather than magic, but, hey. Clarke’s Law.

“Ghost In the Invisible Bikini”?

Just a Wild, Wild, guess.

Then it must be It’s Pat! The Teenage Witch.

Hey, it had Neve Campbell and Denise Richards making out. Who the hell remembers the plot?

Hey I’m not judging, when you watch it as many times as I have you…um, nevermind.

More importantly, Kevin Bacon in full-frontal nudity.

The perfect family movie: Something for everyone!

Sorry got nothing for the OP. Sounds like Kids except for the magic.

Are you sure it was magic, and not ESP? That sounds like a SciFi movie/series from quite a while back that tanked.
