Please.
Tonight I was (kinda) watching the episode of the tv drama “Bones” in which a transexual was killed by her wife who was jealous of the relationship that had grown between the transexual and a member of their church. The episode closed with a song by an artist with an unusual voice and style. I was fascinated, and would very much like to know the name of the singer and song, and to hear it without the distraction of the program.
Thanks,
mangeorge
According to IMDB, it’s River of Sorrow by Antony & The Johnsons.
Happycamper*5 is correct.
The ‘Johnsons’ part of Antony and the Johnsons is a reference to Marsha P Johnson, a transgender activist. Her death - ruled as suicide, but friends believe she wasn’t suicidal and had been harassed - inspired the song, so there’s a link there.
If you like that song, it’s on their self-titled first album. The whole album is incredible.
