Name Translations...some are obvious and some are just plain weird

Multiple reasons…pick one:
Drollman–because people think I’m funny.
Drollman–short for drum roll man, because I play the drums
Drollman–because “Soul Man” was taken…and I play the guitar.

Original Sig: With God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.
Current Sig: (See below–Just one of the many stupid things I have said)
Thinking of changing Sig to: Personally, I like a little more humour in my comedy.

My fate keeps getting in the way of my destiny.

OK, since I didn’t post this the last three times we had nickname threads…

I have always had cats, but have never happened to have a purebred cat. All have been alley cats, mutts, moggies – just plain cats. To avoid hurting their furry little feelings, some people call these kitties “randombred.” So since I’ve had nothing but random cats,

Catrandom

Mine is an old AOL screen name. My real name is Paul and Pluto is a sort of anagram. Plus I enjoy the multiple meanings – the planet, the Roman god, the Disney dog.

I have been researching my family history.

My great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather lived in Malden, Massachusetts. He was the first in my family to live in the New World. Recently I went to Boston and read his will and inventory-- the originals from 1682 and 1687 are still on file with the state.

So i picked my progenitor’s hometown as my SD nickname.

I have a bright red, kinda’ evil looking 4X4 that’s usually covered with mud. When I’d come home from the trails, the wife would say “Look at that dirty devil!” I liked it and it just stuck. My license plate reads “DRTYDVL” (ah, how cute, uh?).

I’d like to cut your head off so I can weigh it. What do you say?

Because I like seeing people scratch their heads trying to figure out how to pronounce it.

You say “cheesy” like that’s a BAD thing.

Mine comes from The Winter King trilogy by Bernard Cornwell. Derfel is the son of a saxon slave who is adopted by Merlin, and grows to be a Lord and friend to King Arthur. An excellent set of books, that I recommend to anyone who will listen to me.

My first name is not Rose, but I do enjoy growing them. And since I live in Nebraska, “Prairie Rose” seems appropriate.

If you’re not part of the solution you’re just scumming up the bottom of the beaker.

It’s an old college nickname.

A long time ago I was given the nickname ‘potato face’. As it turns out, an anagram for my name is ‘any saucy potato’… and the ‘saucy potato’ part just stuck.

The Battle of Sempach, 1397

Then Arnold von Winkelried of Unterwalden, with an eagle glance saw the only means of saving his country, and, with the decision of a man who dares by dying to do all things, shouted aloud: “I will open a passage.”

“‘I have a virtuous wife at home,
A wife and infant son:
I leave them to my country’s care,
The field shall yet be won!’
He rushed against the Austrian band
In desperate career,
And with his body, breast, and hand,
Bore down each hostile spear;
Four lances splintered on his crest,
Six shivered in his side,
Still on the serried files he pressed,
He broke their ranks and died!”

The very weight of the desperate charge of this self-devoted man opened a breach in the line of spears. In rushed the Swiss wedge, and the weight of the (austrian) nobles’ armour and length of their spears was only encumbering.

Hi, my name is Katheryn and I love kitty cats.

The Gr8 part is just a goof because most of the time I feel anything but. It’s just an attempt to bolster my pathetic self esteem.

Kinoons is my old hockey nickname. My coach could never get my entire last name out, so he just cut it short. It stuck even sense

Kinooning it up for 20 years and counting

I’m a first year Chinese student, and we were assigned names for class. Mine is Ai Yue Han. I originally registered as Ai\ Yue- Ha
in a attempt to convey tone marks. Then I gave that up (It screwed up the autofills- It was NOT peer pressure, no matter what you people say.)

I tried to register Ai Yue Han but accidently registered it to an email address that doesn’t exist. So I ended up with this.

On a related note, I recently got a little program that lets me display Chinese characters. This is how my name is written:

°¬ Ô¼ º²

Unfortunately I can’t increase the size with UBB code. You may have to actively change encoding to Chinese Simplified GB.

'Twis brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gymble in the wabe.
Mimsy were the borogroves,
And the momeraths outgrabe.

I’ve said this before, but I’ll repeat it one more time. The story behind my name is that there is no story, it’s just something that popped into my head one night. I dropped the name I had been using and became neuro-trash grrrl the very next day. It nicely encapsulates the randomness of my mentality and my love for silly puns.

Heck is where you go when you don’t believe in Gosh.

I think mine is pretty self-explanitory.

My little kitten’s name is Minx. And, I’m her mom. Minx’s Mom.

OK, OK, nobody said the story had to be interesting.

Green = my environmental philosophy and political party

Bean = a nickname for the brain or head

Therefore, Green Bean could be translated into “environment-head.”

Also, my favorite cousin’s babyhood nickname was Beanie Greenie, and sometimes she was called Greenie Beanie. This is because her last name starts with “Green” and she looked like a cute little bean when she was a baby. So, my screen name is also in honor of her.

And you all thought my screen name had something to do with green beans!

“Jeannie” is my real name. I know. I’m so uncreative. I’ve thought of changing it, but then I’d have to think of a new screen name and a sig line. Anyone have any ideas for me on the sig line?
