My full name is Rosemary, which strikes me as a bit formal. I use Rose for pretty much everything (always have to remind myself to use the full version for official stuff), and my best friend calls me Rosebud now and then.
I will also answer to “Your Highness.”
Gamera is really neat, he is full of turtle meat, we’ve been eating Gam-er-aaaa…
One day, as I looked up at the sky, I was able to visualize the distance to the star I was looking at and myself in proportion to it. Ever since, I have been mad as a hatter. Sometimes when I am particularly mad, I string words together in a form that pleases me, and yet totally confounds me when I have a moment of clarity.

“I never meant to hurt you,” you said,
And buried yourself in lies instead.
Next time I would rather be slain,
Than forced to bear your mercy again.
After posting on this board for several months using my real name, I decided last year to pick a more pseudonyminous user name. Unfortunately when I made this decision I had not decided what that new name would be. So after closing my original user name down, I made a list of several dozen possible user names and at the last minute chose this one pretty much at random.
The original Little Nemo, in case you were unaware, is the hero of a comic strip created by Winsor McCay. He’s a small boy who has big adventures while he’s dreaming.
It was a decision between Louie (real name), Big Louie (one of my nicknames in school), King Louie (favorite character in Jungle Book), or Toaster (another nickname). I chose the first

Ummm. I used to compete in Simpsons’s trivia back in the day on Aol (YEARS ago), and since I was DAMN good, I chose the handle Homer7881, being my favorite character and my birthdate, to insure availability. Got that named TOSsed a few times. Moved to Homer788. TOSsed. XxHoMeRxX. TOSsed. IlHoMeRlI. Quit Aol for local service. Dad signed me up, for some reason, as homer@micoks.net. Now, I just use the same handle for everything. Saves wear and tear on my brain.
BTW, does read the Onion? One of the writers, Tim Harrod, used to compete in the same Simpsons’s trivia contests as I did, and usually won, quite handily. Very nice guy, we used to talk quite a bit.

We are the children of the Eighties. We are not the first “lost generation” nor today’s lost generation; in fact, we think we know just where we stand - or are discovering it as we speak.
I chose my name because it’s my favorite time of day…right before darkness, when everything has a pretty blue hue. I’ve been using it for about 3 years now, in some form or another. The weird spelling is due to it also being an AOL screen name, and I was limited to 10 characters (BluTwylite). And plus, I think it sounds cool

I have an affection for early 20th Century Britain, or its literature at any rate. And in those Wodehouse stories, etc., people are always paying a guinea or a few guineas for something. In present-day terms, think 10 or 20 bucks (purchasing power).
The guinea was (is?) a coin worth a shilling more than a pound (21s to the pound’s 20s)–thus making it one of the weirdest amounts of money to have a coin and name.
I decided once if I ever had a website & online identity, I’d like to use “fool’s guinea” as a site name and handle, representing the money I put into my web identity for what little of any use I have to say.
It evokes both “a fool and his money” and “my two cents’ worth.”
And it’s unlikely to be duplicated.
When I got my first email account, I was going to be philippos@hotmail.com, but that was taken. So I tried “fool’s guinea.” I dropped the apostrophe and space because they don’t work so well with url’s & (some) screen names.
“And that’s as much explanation as I’ve ever givan anyone!”
