NASA Wake Up Songs

How about this, then?

I thought of this, but decided it might be inappropriate:

That’s the thing. Even if you really like a song, the association with being woken up will lead you to hate it. Perhaps not a problem after a short mission in space.

How about some James Taylor?

Continuing the John Williams theme:

My favorite:

The chorus says it all

The Who - I Can See For Miles

There was the time in 1973 that NASA used the Legendary Stardust Cowboy’s “Paralyzed” to wake up the crew.

The song has since been banned from being used for that purpose.

I don’t think this is the best time for Taylor’s unique brand of bittersweet folk rock.

I suppose this one would be inappropriate.

No one has suggested Dark Side of the Moon

An appropriate title:

Daydream Believer would be a great way to start the day

Remember what the nice Cat Herder Mod said

I’d rather listen to the glurg “Good morning to you” than that abomination. I like his acting- no one liked his singing.

“I Sing the Body Electric” from the Fame soundtrack:

No one?

I was thinking Time

If not the above, then

Elton John - Rocket Man (Official Music Video)

The one that starts with an alarm clock? Good choice!

My pick (which is my cell phone alarm) is Right Now, by Van Halen. It’s an upbeat way to start the day.

I had a clock App that let me pick a wake-up song.

I absolutely can’t tolerate any rock the first thing in the morning.

I used songs by the Mantovani Orchestra to wake-up. The theme song from the movie Born Free woke me up for over a year. The horns were loud enough to wake me without making me angry.

The App became unreliable after some Android changes. I miss it.

I first suggested Hendrix’s version of The Star Spangled Banner, from Woodstock, but my wife said it is too much like supporting trump, so I switched to Purple Haze from Woodstock.

Alternate choice: You Got Another Thing Coming by Judas Priest.
