I’ve got an ouchy foot Not sure what’s wrong with it. It’s not too painful, but the pain hasn’t really gone away, so I’m thinking of maybe going to the clinic if this keeps up for longer.
The thing I did was going to a restaurant for dinner. I ended up waiting for everyone in the car because I forgot my ear plugs and it was too loud. But, hey, I did a thing.
Tonight I shall probably continue my Blacklist marathon. We started watching it from the beginning. Much less angsty. We had missed the first 2 seasons I think.
Midget hope the foot feels better. Where does it hurt?
It was a lazy day to catch up on sloth. Hubs even had a nap. We didn’t make the mini golf tournament cause I just need the rest I guess.
Tomorrow shall be get busy doing my chores, which includes tons of laundry, cleaning and cooking a proper meal. My car could use a good cleaning but that’s not likely to happen by me.
I am considering asking my boss if I can change my schedule to work four ten hour days a week to cut down on all the commuting which is getting so old. I think he will agree. I just have to hold up my end of the bargain.
Hubs granddaughter is getting married early April but there is no way I can go as we are very busy. He is trying to decide on flying or driving. If it were me I’d fly but I ain’t going. Truthfully, it will nice to have the house to myself for a few days. It has been a while. I love my alone time.
Sleepy so gonna call it a wasted day.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 62 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 83 and mostly N.O.S. this afternoon. The big plan of the day is to deheathenate (I have ush duty), followed by N.O.L. at Sunny’s. Sunny’s has all you can eat smoked chikin and the two of us can eat our money’s worth.
{{{Midget}}} hope the foot feels better today.
MetalMouse that made me tired from just readin’ what you did yestiddy.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. At some point purtification for deheathenization must commence as well.
Happy Sunday Y’all!
I have had a new weirdest dream ever. My daughter (who, IRL is not pregs) gave birth to sextuplets but the doc told her none of them would survive, so she just left them in the hospital. And I didn’t find out till several days later, and I was all ticked off at her for keeping it secret from me. There was also something in there about learning to speak Russian, but the baby part wins the weird award.
One of FCD’s coworkers is coming over - she’s got something on her car that needs to be fixed and he offered. It’s not an engine-related thing, but that’s all I know. He made the offer ages ago and hasn’t been able to get to it and she, being a bit of a brat, couldn’t act like an adult and take it to a pro to get it fixed. My sweetie needs to quit making offers he doesn’t really want to fulfill.
I’ve got to do a couple loads of laundry and reassemble the smoker. And I need to dig out something for supper - maybe I’ll do something with chicken. Mostly, tho, no big plans for the day. I wanted to stay in bed, but if I slept in, I’d have that much more difficulty getting up tomorrow. So I’m up. Go me.
**swampy **- don’t you mean Sonny’s?? tsk tsk
Happy Sunday!
Happy Sunday!
I’ve been up since 2 am or thereabouts. I don’t know, I don’t even try to sleep anymore.
It’s dark and fairly warm outside, in the high 40s. I know it feels warm since I have let the dog in and out a few times.
Supposed to rain today.
The cat is fine, except I yelled at him this morning and he is hiding/sulking/whatever he does. He just won’t quit begging and after a while I have had enough. Every time I turn around he is sitting there staring at me and if I try to ignore him he swats me with his claws. He has two balls and a mouse with treats in them but he wants me to give them to him.
I don’t like yelling at him but damn, enough is enough.
My wrist hurts, left hand so not as bad as is it were the right hand. It hurts to grip anything and my thumb is swollen.
Don’t know what I’m doing today. I have to irk some, and today is take out trash day. I’ll have one paper to proofread for him today. I should do some laundry, maybe I will, maybe I won’t. I think I’ll make meatballs for dinner, or maybe chicken? I think chicken.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. I’m off today. I shall launder, and shovel the pollen off of the sidewalk.
Feel better sari and Midget.
blurf been up since 5 am on my day off. I foresee a nap later. Got laundry in progress and that’s about it so far.
I want chicken but we have some snapper thawed so fish it is I guess. Lucky Louie needs his Sunday bath and we will have a houseguest for a couple of days on Tuesday or Wed so I need to clean the entire house. Such is life.
Hubby decided to fly so he will only be gone from Friday until Moanday. Round trip fro KW to ATL was only $388. Driving would be cheaper but would take an extra two days. He has too much work to do to be gone too long.
I am so sick of politics. That is all that’s on the news anymore.
Happy Sunday everyone. Forgot to tell Sari you are not the only one with a crazy cat. Mine reached out and clawed me when I just walked by for no reason. She was yelled at too.
Breakfast has been ingested. First load of laundry is in the machine. Dishwasher is washing dishes. Critter fountain is clean. Quite a bit done before 10AM on a Sunday. Whew!
I hope that your foot feels better soonest, emily…
The friend who was supposed to come over a month ago and was sick, then flaked last weekend should be here about noon. Other than that, it’s the usual Sunday. Tonight’s supper will be lemon rosemary chicken, asparagus and couscous.
Sari and Midget, hope the owies get feeling better. Mine is my lower back, if I’m sitting and try to stand up straight to fast… Advil is a great thing.
Butters, FCM, and Sari, you’ve convinced me that a cat is a not a good companion for a retired old man. I’ve idly thought about greyhound rescue, but not until I’m sure I can take care of a dog or two.
So I slept in until nearly 8am, but it’s rainy-looking at in the 60’s outside, so…of course I just signed up to referee another soccer game at 2PM today. Silly me. Of course I get Moanday to recover, so not so bad.
Everyone seems to be having a laundry day except me, there are a couple of things that could stand washing, but it’ll probably be next Sunday for the real washing.
Now to go and seek subsistence.
**MetalMouse **- my youngest sis has rescued 2 greyhounds - I’m sure she’d be glad to clue you in if you’re interested. Apparently apart from needing daily exercise, they’re very low maintenance dogs. Hers were both more like sentient throw rugs than anything!
First load in the dryer, second in the washer, dish cycle is done. **FCD **is helping his coworker with her car’s convertible top. I did an on-line jigsaw puzzle. Good times!
My foot pain is mostly on the inside of my left foot, just back of the ankle. Thinking of going to the clinic tomorrow. It’s not especially painful or debilitating, but it’s lasted too long.
MetalMouse I think it depends on the dog. Some are definitely high maintenance, but I think generally speaking they are more emotionally rewarding than cats. I expect that several Mumpers will now emerge with counter-arguments.
What I like about my cats: they like to cuddle up and sit on my lap or next to me. One of my cats has decided her job is to sleep every night with my autistic son. They are kind of funny and silly at times. They’ll chase strings, or light on the wall or each other. They can sound like a herd of elephants, which is amazing, since they are usually under 10 pounds and capable of being nearly soundless. They stalk insects, and will keep your home relatively bug and rodent free.
What I like about my dogs: the little dog also cuddles up with me, and one of the big dogs will do it given the chance. They also meet me at the door. They’re up for walks, or, just doing whatever you’re doing. I’m would guess a dog would love to run the right kind of errands (hardware store) and would love to go to soccer games. They’re emotionally invested in you, but don’t need to be high energy indoors (unless you pick a breed that always is).
I guess it boils down to dogs have a higher emotional IQ than cats, but there are pluses to both. I’ve had both my entire life. I probably always will, despite my occasional muttering about cats.
The intellectual age of a dog is two.
Cats, 45. They just don’t give a damn.
I was wondering if it was a heel injury, but it sounds like more of an ankle thing. Hopefully they’ll figure it out.
::stretch:: ::yawn::
We walked about a ¾ mile cooldown after this morning’s run, which of course meant that the sweaty clothes became freezonious (is too a word). Came home, had a nice long, hot shower & then crawled back into bed. Didn’t get the bike ride in I was hoping to this afternoon, but then I’m not sure the legs were up to it either. Now I need to drive where I was going to ride.
Just found out my ex-bil died.
Nobody had heard from him for a while so my niece called the police to do a welfare check and they found him dead.
I liked him. I always thought he’d live forever since he had cheated death twice.
Brekkie, actually lunch, this morning was an Original Joe’s Omelette. Mushrooms, onions and spinach scrambled with eggs. I know an omelette isn’t scrambled, just go with it. There used to be an Italian restaurant in Eugene called Original Joe’s and they made this omelette, which is way better than it sounds. I just like to scramble it.
Dogs are more high maintenance than cats, but they’re always happy to see you and don’t draw blood when they’re in a bad mood. I’m a dog person. If I’m going to live with someone/something, it want it to be glad I’m there. Which is why I never intended to get married again, but life happens.
I have heard that greyhounds make very good companions, but I don’t know anybody who has one.
Mom, Red Robin has fish and chips? Any good? I lurves me some fish n chips and have been sorely disappointed by the offerings in all the local establishments, even Black Bear. I’ll have to conduct an experiment.
There is some combination of keys on a keyboard that, when pressed together, will erase the last paragraph you typed and move your cursor to another location on the page. I wish I knew what I just did 'cause I do it frequently and I hate it. It seems to have something to do with me reaching for the left side ‘shift’ key and hitting ‘ctrl’ or 'fn instead along with some other key. If I could design my own keyboard all those ‘special’ keys would be somewhere all by themselves where I couldn’t hit them by mistake.
I was telling what I thought was an amusing story about going to red robin with a couple of female coworkers who would eat lunch there 'cause they liked this colorful alcoholic concoction they made call a ‘nuclear meltdown’ or some such. (It was actually pretty good) I guess this Dell thought it was sexist or something.
I thought he was talking about his refrigerator and wondered how he taught it to give haircuts.
I don’t like ours. It has these auto close doors that close just quick enough to whack me in the elbow while I’m extracting foodstuffs from it’s shelves.
The Schnauzer is poking me. I think he’s bored and wants to inspect the back yard again.
Howdy Y’all! Today I have deheathenated, performed ush duties, et N.O.L. at Sonny’s, and achieved nappage. I attempted to do taxes but for some reason I cannot fill in the forms. In the past it’s been no problem to fill in the form, save it and print it out but not today. No cursor. Looks like the same pdf form it’s always been. Anybody have a clue?
No we went to Orygun to see Sunny for N.O.L. She seemed kinda surprised bein’ as we didn’t call first, just showed up.
