NCIS 1/16/07 Spoilers likely!!

Great episode last night. I always enjoy Ziva kicking ass.

Anyone else think that the small town lab tech (Ruthie??) is going to become Abby’s assistant?

And who is spying on Tony? The arabs from the airport that he was following last December? I still think his love interest is going to get bumped off in the season finale.

What do you think?

They’re definitely setting the love interest up to die a memorable death. But damn, isn’t he cute with her? (Loved the Cary Grant thing last night.)

And, yeah, I think the small towner is going to become a regular – good character.

I liked last night’s episode. The outcome (the who killed the dead Navy person and why?) was a lot less gimmicky than some.

I also loved the conversation Ziva had with Gibbs, where Ziva’s convinced that Tony is suffering from some mysterious disease. Made me think Gibbs knows something Ziva doesn’t know–and probably something we in the audience don’t know either.

I got the idea Ziva was worried that Tony was sick because of all his absences, while he was really going to the hospital to see his girlfriend. Same with the other cellphone and secretive conversations. Did I miss something?

And I liked the part where Gibbs told the Deputy to remove his pants, and when he balked, Gibbs asked if he wanted Ziva to remove them.

Nah - Gibbs knows even less than we know. But he has been doing this for quite a while, can put two and two together, and has figured out that Tony is doing something undercover for the agency. I don’t think Gibbs knows the details, but I don’t think he feels he needs to know the details, at least not now.

I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if Gibbs now suspects that Tony’s working undercover for the agency… I’m betting that he knows it because he recognizes Tony doing something he had to do, himself, in the past.

In all its simplicity, this is one of the best shows on tv.

What I mean is - there are a number of shows with better writing, better character development, better plots, better acting. But sometimes, eating gourmet food at fancy restaurants is boring, and I get a yearning for a Double Whopper Cheese with extra mayo, large fries, onion rings and a chocolate shake.

NCIS delivers on what it is - a fairly stupid cop show with an outlandish whodunnit every week - better than just about any other show in its genre. The only other runner-up is Bones. CSI and its clones take themselves too seriously, as do Cold Case, The Closer, L&O. Criminal Minds is third runner up, but only because of Mandy Patinkin.

I figured it was Ziva.

Nah, clearly it’s one of The Bad Guys – perhaps the guy who he encountered when he was being a luggage handler/street musician? Or one of that guy’s minions?

I love this show.
