Need funeral fashion advice.

I have a wake and funeral to go to this weekend, and I’m trying to figure out what to wear. I have a tailored black & white tweed skirt and a black button-up shirt that would work, but my legs are pasty and look ridiculous with it. Can I wear black tights without looking like a complete dork? I think it looks good, but I’m old and don’t know what’s in and out.

Also, for the other event, I was thinking black dress slacks and a dress shirt that’s mostly white with purple & black pin stripes. Acceptable?

I think tights are fine with that outfit, but they might seem a little out of season – I typically only wear them in cold weather. What about black sheer stockings? Or just regular stockings?

The other outfit sounds fine to me too. For funerals, I think anything relatively somber and conservative is more than acceptable.

For the first outfit you might want to find opaque black stockings- cover your legs without looking too heavy.

I think you guys might be right about the hose. Thanks. I’ll look around…it’s hard to find hose these days.
