If you want him to pray for you, ask. If you don’t, leave him alone. He is sincere in his beliefs, and the fact that you don’t agree with him does not give you the right to wish him dead. I say wish because it is apparent that you do not believe in prayer.
Why is it okay for people to be Wiccans, Bhuddists, New Age practitioners etc. and to offer their help, but it is not okay to offer to pray to God I REPEAT if you ask for it?
From the little I understand, (I’m new) if you have a problem with this guy, the place to put it is in the BBQ pit.
I’m going to pray for you, alright-that you will learn a little tolerance for others.

Scotticher, If you don’t understand that this forum is not the place for this, perhaps you should go and sign up at the Left Behind board. You’ll feel more at home there.
Mr. jenkinsfan has done some witnessing in the GD forum and I had no problem with that, even though it was obvious to me that he is not as sincere as you profess him to be.
If you believe that Mr. jenkinsfan has a right to open a thread of this type in this forum, I think it’s fair that I have a right to comment on it.
If you still have a problem with that, I welcome you to open a thread in the pit regarding my opinion on this, and we can discuss it in more detail there.

You are probably right. If you think this is the correct forum to say that you want someone to die, then I guess I have completely misunderstood everything I thought I had learned about this board. My understanding was that if you felt you needed to say that someone was so awful that you wanted them to die, you should do it in the pit. I believe that I said so in my last post.
I have no knowledge of jenkinsfan other than this post. If he has been offensive before, I am not aware of it. It seemed clear to me that we are supposed to respond to a thread itself and I didn’t know that I was supposed to research every post that the person ever made prior to having an opinion. I still have not done this, so I have no comment to make on any other previous things he had to say.
In reference to THIS thread, I stand by everthing I said. I am sorry if you find it offensive that I have an opinion that is contrary to yours, and I have lurked enough to know that is the kiss of death for me here.

I have no knowledge of jenkinsfan, and so I have no way to gauge his sincerity. He seems sincere to me. So, as long as you aren’t discriminating, I see no problem. It has just always appeared to me that almost any belief expressed is given more slack than Christianity.

I am so sorry, we seem to have gotten off on the wrong foot BIG TIME! You were not the one who said this, it was Water Boy. I assumed you had read this before you saw my post in response to it.
Talk DOWN to you? I’d like to see the day! If that is how I came across, it was not intended that way. I don’t even know what to say. I keep trying, but I am nonplussed and can’t seem to come up with anything except I am sorry.
As far as the kiss of death thing, maybe you don’t realize how much you are revered on this board. I am sure with good reason. In my lurking, this has been evident to me. However, it was a whiny thing to say, and I detest whiny. And so I apologize for that, too.
Last, let me reiterate that I have no knowledge of jenkinsfan beyond this thread. Could you try reading just this thread setting aside your prior knowledge, and maybe you will understand where I am coming from?

I have no illusions about Jenkinsfan’s sincerity, and I appreciate the idea that he obviously does care in his own way, but this is going the way I feared it would, and I’m calling a halt before it gets worse.
