Nemisis Game

Hey! This movie doesn’t even have the minimum five votes yet on IMDB for a rating. http://us.imdb.com/Details?0323571 Has anyone else seen it? I’d like to talk about it, so would you rent it?

Hey! I saw that and thought it was cool, but I didn’t get some of it. For instance, was it just me or did it seem like the order of some of the scenes was out of whack? If the girl (sorry, I saw it awhile ago and don’t remember character names) was playing the game on her own and learning about it like it was new to her by the comic book store guy, then what was it she was playing with him at the beginning?

I wondered that, but I finally concluded there were two different “games” going on at the same, or nearly the same time. The safe mundane version she and Vern were playing in the beginning, and the real game she discovered on her own; it probably was the game she played with Vern that got her interested in the real game. That’s the only thing that would account for his surprise about the riddle left on the store.

I wished I’d waited to give it a score on IMDB, because I gave it a 6 since I didn’t think the ending was as coherent as it could have been. However, the next day it occured to me that
The ending is senseless because like Emily accuses the girl’s Dad, we don’t see the design! Of course it doesn’t make sense - given it doesn’t strictly follow the find answer-murder-confess pattern with the last two deaths - that the boy killed himself(which is the part I couldn’t figure out) and Vern killed the girl without seeming to have discovered the final answer. Since we don’t see the design we’re blind to the reasons things happen.
I probably would have given it a 7 or 8 if I’d thought of that first, oh well.
