Yup, I done got me a dog. She’s sitting on the floor watching me type this. Her name is Daisy. Not necessarily my first choice, but all of my good dog names were boy dog names. She is a 4 month old black lab mix that we got from the animal shelter. She loves people and if she could, I am sure she would pledge her undying loyalty to Cecil. She also thinks Coldfire is her favorite poster. At least I assume so. My test wasn’t overly scientific, but out of all the pictures I had on the floor, his was the one she urinated on.
Well hi, Daisy!
:::scritches puppy-wuppy behind her earsy-wearsies:::
Heeeeeere, doggy! I’ve got some nice, chewy bacon treats for you!
:::scritches Daisy-girl’s belly:::
(can you tell I like dogs?)
Awwww, Coldfire, you should be so proud!
Mullinator, Daisy isn’t a bad name. YAY! for getting her from a shelter. More people should do that.
Of course your lab will post: offer her food. Labs will do anything for food.

So did you name her after Blondie and Dagwood’s dog, or after the Catherine Bach character from THE DUKES OF HAZZARD?
Yayy! My dog is also a black lab mix. His name is Dillon. Daisy and Dillon. Sounds like they could be a couple!
Say hello to her for me and Dillon.
Better keep him off the couch or Cecil’s gonna get pissed!
Hmm. Maybe she knew Coldy in a former life.
Awww…she sounds cute! Give her a hug and a kiss from me, eh?
Well, the good thing is she likes to sleep in the computer room, so she isn’t completely a doper in absentia.
Daisy will most likely have a friend or two when our neighbors get their dogs.
As for the name, my wife picked it. She just kinda looks like a Daisy.
Ain’t this a co-inky-dink?
My dog’s named Daisy too (full name: Daisy-Bob). Not after either Dagwood’s dog or the Dukes’ comely cousin. If I remember correctly we just wanted a “flower” name, it just popped into our heads.
Uke inquires:
Neither, Uke. The puzzle pieces now fall into place and my life gets a little darker. I submit, for your approval, the following “coincidences”:
- Mully moves to my state
- Mully buys a house very near mine
- Mully gets a dog, just weeks after I get a dog
- Mully’s dog is a black lab mix, just like mine
- Mully names his dog Daisy, which was the name attached to my dog before before we changed it out of respect for my sweet little grandmother, also named Daisy.
- I have openly discussed my place of residence and my dog adoption on this very board.
I think I got me one of them cyber-stalkers. And he’s ugly.
Oh, like, literally!
:: pats Daisy on the head:: What a cute poochie she is!
Hey, at least he ain’t pissing on your picture.
Congrats, Mully. Tell Daisy that I’ll gladly return the favour whenever I get to meet her!
[sub]Did I say that out loud?[/sub]
hi daisy!!! rubs daisy’s tummy well aren’t you a cute widdle doggie??
Okay Doctor Jackson, you caught me. Once I finish this post, I will unplug my laptop and move away from your living room window. I guess I’ll have to figure out where Tubadiva lives now.
I’ll write the directions to Tuba’s house on the living room window. I’ll write backwards so you can read it from outside. When you get there, don’t sit in the oak tree in the back yard. That’s my spot.
And quit leaving my kids’ bikes in the driveway!
Do you want me to caulk up that hole I drilled in the bathroom wall, or do you want to do that yourself?
I had a Daisy doggy once; she was so named because of the white spot on top of her head that reminded me of a Daisy. I’d actually wanted to call her Ophelia after Morticia’s sister on The Addams Family (“deep roots”), but I suffered a brain fart and couldn’t recall the name.
[Pets Daisy’s head] Can I bring my Jimmy over to play?
Daisy the Beagle says “hi” to Daisy Mullinator. She wants D.M. the Dog Newbie to know that it’s back to school time, and any day now there will be boxes of Ding Dongs, Zebra Cakes, Twinkies, and Hostess Cupcakes on the kitchen counter, so keep your eyes (and nose) peeled, kid!
Plus, she says to give Mully an extra-affectionate slurp on the face, by way of a “thank you” for rescuing a dog from the pound. [paws high-five]
