Doh! Was supposed to be a PM.
Hey all,
I woke up this morning with the cold that has been threatening for the past few days coming into full force. I’m gonna take some Sudafed and see how I feel, but if it doesn’t make me feel a LOT better I don’t think I’m going to make it to the Dopefest. We’ll see how it goes - I really would like to go, but at this moment I’m not sure I have the energy to stay awake much less go out and socialize.
If I don’t show, I hope all of you have a good time!
Unfortunately, a couple members weren’t able to make it, but those of us that did had a blast, IMHO. BlueKangaroo invited a few lurkers that I happened to recognize as they walked by our table, outside of the restaurand, and I was able to chase them down.** Oredigger** was instantly recognized by both BlueK and I before he even had a chance to adjust his eyes to start looking for us. The food was good, the conversation was great, and I hope I speak for everybody involved when I say it’d be nice to do it again sometime! Thanks to all who came, making the first ever (to my knowledge) NM Dopefest a success!
I had a lovely time, and I’m glad to have met Santo Rugger and Oredigger. I’m sorry we missed Athena and Mr. Athena, as well as NinjaChick, but still.

Here I say getting excited and then realized that today was the 30th. Darn! I’ll be in Albuquerque next weekend for the USBC tournament. Also, my daughter wants to take a look at the University of NM for grad school. So I guess I missed you guys. Seems to be habit with me, missing Dopefests. Oh anyway, maybe she’ll go to school out there and I can come visit.
My absence was due to a Benadryl-induced coma, for which I apologize. I got back to NM yesterday from spring break. The juniper had not come into season when I left, but it apparently has in the interim. My seasonal allergies run from ‘mildly annoying’ (freshly cut grass) to ‘death would be a mercy’ (the much-loathed juniper). Thus the Benadryl, thus the sleeping through most of the afternoon.
So sorry to have missed it. 
One of these days, I will make it to a Dopefest, somewhere.
No worries, rumor has it **BlueKangaroo **is allergic to juniper, and therefore gin, also.
I’ll head down to Abq if you want to get together for dinner next weekend, just let me know. Wednesdays, Sundays, and Mondays are best for me, in that order.
Let me see what the schedule is, the whole family is coming. (Almost) I’ll get back to you, but I’d love to get acquainted.
