Why so much back story with Boromir? Isn’t the movie going to be long enough as it is?!? Granted, I’m not complaining, but with Frodo and Sam dealing with their pest problem that should have been covered in the last movie, Pippin playing with his ball, Merry running around Minis Tirith, Aragorn running through the Haunted Mansion, Gandalf doing all sorts of stuff, two big battles, Eagles (sans Henley and company), Nazgul, Orcs, mountains, Smeagols, ailing stewards, sword forgings, banner wavings, weddings, crownings, scourings (I know, I know) and Grey Havens, why do we need backstory?!?
Heh. Fear not my displaced SVU friend. The Boromir scenes are brief flashbacks. A few minutes of screen time, max. Plenty of time for all of the other goodies.
Note that the first two links Fingolfin supplied say also that they are from the TTT Extended Edition, and the ROTK preview (the secondd link actually only says TTT). I’m willing to bet that most of the stuff with Boromir is going to be in the TTT Extended Edition, and not in ROTK.
And Ino, do you really think they’re going to leak that yet? They’re going to want us to be blown away when we see her for the first time, I doubt we’ll see much of Shelob until we see the film. Much like the Balrog in FOTR… the most we saw of him before the movie came out was what looked like a flaming foot coming down.
Yeah, AvaIonian, but I’d be happy with a proportionate amount of Shelob in the ROTK trailers compared to the balrog’s foot for FOTR. Or maybe some slavering jaws.
I have an abject terror of spiders, yet I saw Eight Legged Freaks opening day, and I can’t wait to see Shelob. Perhaps it’s the eternal hope that the spider will be annihilated and destroyed.
