He worked on multiple Trek series (DS9 and Voyager I believe) and in interviews seems to know what Trek is all about so I have high hopes. That said, most likely this will be set in the Abrhamsverse not the “Prime” universe.
I am fine with that as long as it feels like Star Trek.
There are certainly some good people on it - in addition to Brian Fuller, we now have Nicholas Meyer (Star Trek II, IV, and VI) writing for it.

I agree this is more creative good news. So far the only aggravating thing about the show is its distribution model.
Brian Fuller & Nicholas Meyer makes me feel better about this. But I won’t sign up for CBS’s access thing so I guess I’ll see the episodes 1/2 year or more after everyone else.
I agree, I’m not paying fro a whole channel for one show. I won’t pirate it either but this will probably eclipse Game of Thrones as the most pirated TV show.
I won’t sign up for the all access either; I don’t need another bill. I’m sure there will be a way to watch it down the road & I hope it will be good.

Sometimes I wish they’d replace 1/3 of the fire extinguishers by the conference rooms with baseball bats and add signs that read, “In Case Of Ego, Break Glass”.
It’s still not clear if CBS plans to make this available to people who don’t pay for the subscription service. But I hope they do something similar to the NBC series Friday Night Lights. NBC broadcast the first two seasons, but the ratings were too low for them to greenlight subsequent seasons on their own. So the third through fifth seasons were exclusively available on DirecTV in the autumn and then broadcast on NBC in the spring.
Hey, if it’s on cable, they could make “naked” literal, for once.
