I didn’t want to put this in the commercial thread, as it will sustain interest on its own.
It didn’t strike me as all that different from the first trailer, though it omits the car-jumping opener. Still cool to see, thanks for the link!
I liked the other trailer better.
Kirk + Spock = cool.
Kirk + McCoy = cool.
I’d like to see why McCoy + Spock = jealously friction.
Kirk + Eomer = confusion
Uhura needs more trailer screen time.
Geez, is there a single segment of that trailer that’s over 24 frames long? If they don’t want me to see any footage, why are they releasing a trailer? And by “see” I mean, keep an image on the screen long enough for my eyes to transmit the information to my brain.
Until proven otherwise, I hate this movie on the basis that some producer probably decided that it had to be made EXTREME!!!111!! and therefore there won’t be a single camera shot longer than half a second the entire movie. Also, why isn’t Shatner in it? Star Trek isn’t supposed to be cool, it is supposed to be campy and lovable.
Having the extreme fans record the trailers and hyperanalyze each frame seems to be part of the fun, no?
No. Get a life.
The producers seem to not be going for camp. They couldn’t come up with a logical way to revive Kirk after his demise in “Generations” that didn’t smack of catering to the fanboys. Also, Shatner didn’t want his part reduced to a cameo. He wanted his screen time to be equal to that of Leonard Nimoy.
Hell, if they re-re;eased My Dinner with Andre there would be 24 frame shots of food to mouth, and the trailer would end with the restaurant blowing up.
I’d watch it.
