NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 1)

In a shocking turn of events, I fully agree with Rick Scott. Any elected official who believes his constituents would consider this wasteful spending should reject it.

They get to not have money, I get to not pay for them to have money. It’s win/win.

“Scott urges his male constituents to drive 4 inch spikes into their scrotums. IT’S FOR YOUR OWN GOOD he screamed”

I was thinking the same thing – at least he’s being intellectually* honest about what he thinks, unlike the asshats now taking credit for the bill they voted against.

*to the extent that this dimwit can do anything “intellectually”

Arizona GOP finally comes out and says the quite part out loud when discussing legislation to restrict voting. Normally this is entirely couched in "protecting against (non-existent, fabricated, made up) fraud. That’s at least a nice fig leaf.

However, Arizona GOP John Kavanagh just went for it:

“… everybody shouldn’t be voting.”

He pointed to Democrats’ emphasis on registering voters and pursuing those who have not returned ballots – tactics that Republicans have successfully implemented in other swing states – and said doing so means that “you can greatly influence the outcome of the election if one side pays people to actively and aggressively go out and retrieve those ballots.”

“Not everybody wants to vote, and if somebody is uninterested in voting, that probably means that they’re totally uninformed on the issues,” Kavanagh said. “Quantity is important, but we have to look at the quality of votes, as well.”

Ah yes. “everybody” should not be voting. Especially those people < wink >
And pay attention to the quality of the votes. Everyone knows that those people < wink > don’t cast “quality” votes.

Jesus. Why not just pass legislation outlawing voting for a Democrat?

It took a ridiculously large number of years to finally get the question answered, but it looks like Governor Scott has the cajones to chime in where Robert Ritchie couldn’t or wouldn’t:

Or is it the profoundly reliable dynamic of Republicans suddenly giving lip service to ‘fiscal responsibility --’ as always – when the Democrats are in office ?

That’s coming next.

States with Republican governors had highest Covid incidence and death rates, study finds

How surprising!

I suppose everyone here has already read about that Fox dude Carlson’s rant about wimmen in the military – you know, the kind of people who do things like getting pregnant.

Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Illinois) didn’t mince her words on Twitter. “F*ck Tucker Carlson.” Yeah, she really tweeted that!

Someone who apparently acquired the bone spur virus from French-kissing Trump’s ass is in a remarkably poor position to criticize.

He also got criticism from top military leaders (CNN article here).

One trick doctors don’t want you to know!

Ted Cruz is signing copies of “collectible” editions of Green Eggs and Ham

…which is interesting because

– He didn’t write it.
– it’s not one of the Dr. Seuss books that have been pulled from publication for racial insensitivity
– No one objects to “Green Eggs and Ham”, as far as I know

I do not like green eggs and ham. I do not like them, CalMeacham.

What’s next? Filibustering with pop-up books?

< lobs butter at Gorsnak >

Man, he’s set himself up for a massive trolling, here. Every citizen, city, county, and state should mail him a check returning all the “unneeded funds”. 100 million checks for $0 show up on his desk.

Duckworth: Happy belated International Women’s Day to everyone but Tucker, who even I can dance better than.

Akaj: That’s my senator! :+1:

What makes this a bigger insult is that she’s a paraplegic - lost both legs in an attack during the Gulf War. I like her. I liked her as a Representative (very vocal; very active); I like her as a Senator (even though she’s been quieter in the Senate).
