NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 1)

And what stops Fauci from saying exactly that? Euphonious_Polemic’s suggested retort is a Euphonious Polemic indeed. I’d pay money to hear him say that in committee, on C-Span, right to Jordan’s face. (How do you suppose Maxine Waters would react to that?)

Watching that idiot genuinely struggle to keep his mask over his nose is quite comical. What a fucking Republican.

Well, now, this here is a hum-dinger of a stupid. By way of our good friends over at Talking Points Memo

New GOP Caucus Pushes Nativist Agenda With Calls For ‘Uniquely Anglo-Saxon Political Traditions’

"A new “policy platform” document sprinkled with nativist and white supremacist language emerged Friday from a newly launched far-right caucus linked to Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Paul Gosar (R-AZ). The group is, according to the document, pushing for “uniquely Anglo-Saxon political traditions” and new infrastructure that “befits the progeny of European architecture.”

Point and laugh, shriek in horror… Also, architecture has “progeny”?

For those the can stomach it, the actual memo can be found here.

It’s just your standard white nationalist, issolationist, American exceptionalism that has come to represent the GOP. The only slightly encouraging bit is that they don’t out and out deny global warming exists, (they just don’t want to do anything about it if it might inconvenience anyone.)

Two other things that caught my eye:
In terms of unwitting ironic humor

Recent election results demonstrate a compromised integrity of our elections and made our election system a subject of global mockery.

No argument there, but it was your golden boy’s unwillingness to concede that was mocked.

Second was this head scratcher

We must protect the rights of Americans to best position themselves for a changing economy by promoting the development of cryptocurrency companies domestically, and defend the rights of Americans to hold privates tores of wealth–including gold, silver, and other blockchain-based currencies like Bitcoin.

Gold and silver are blockchain-based currencies? and what does this have to do with anything?

Right-wing goldbugs are notorious for whipping up hysteria that the federal government is going to confiscate privately owned gold and artificially set the price for it. During the early years of the Obama Administration, guys like Glenn Beck pushed this constantly.

Unscrupulous companies like Goldline scammed a lot of consumers by convincing them to purchase gold coins instead of bullion (because the coins would supposedly be exempt from this confiscation that was supposedly about to happen), often at a significant markup relative to what the same coins were trading for in the open market.

What Swissman said.

It’s about fleecing the rubes by selling them overpriced metals or certificates. Or simply phony “gold”. (see Glenn Beck and other right wing charlatans)

“Are we there yet?” (kicks seat)
“Are we there yet?” (kicks seat)
“Are we there yet?” (kicks seat)

Pretty much. And yet to millions of alleged human brains, Jordan’s screaming demands at Fauci to predict the future (to the day) counts as both “intelligent” and “leadership.” Because you yell at expert witnesses to show that YOU are in charge, not them with their stupid FACTS!!!1!!!

We saw the same thing with Trump’s fandom, of course. They looked at toddler tantrums and saw “leadership.” And it wasn’t solely a function of being in a news bubble that gave them nothing but praise of the toddler. It was looking at the exact same toddler conduct the rest of us were seeing, and somehow coming to the conclusion: ‘that’s what a MAN does.’

One despairs, sometimes.

Frequently, even.

I don’t know if I want MTG to STFU…or keep on talking. Quite a conundrum. Maybe that new GOP caucus will become emboldened enough to dog-whistle loud enough to say only blonde-haired blue-eyed Aryans can govern.

I believe the tradition is to have foreign invaders from neighboring countries becoming the dominant culture in the land they invaded. The modern equivalent to Germanic tribes overtaking England would be Central American migrants crossing into the US. So the Anglo-Saxon tradition would be pro-immigration. But I am certain that this woman is too stupid to realize what she is actually advocating.

I think I’ll go with curtain number one. Hopefully Six-Shooter Lauren is behind there as well.

How can such toxic shit like these two not lead to internecine GOP goofiness down the road, which is fine and dandy by me, but jesus, how can anyone…I dunno…eat lunch with them?

I find this disrespectful. Please refer to Marjorie Wharrgarbl by name.

Our education system is broken. Let me demonstrate:

I mean, it is slightly more coherent than ShitGibbon could have done, but I can see the little marks around the edges where they kept putting the sharpie down for a moment.

Whaddya know, they backed down.

Somehow his totally self-aware lynching joke was the least offensive thing he was about to say.

“Going back to the founding, and going back to the three-fifths, and I heard the comments and I appreciate them, and I respect them,” Boomer Ben Shapiro continued. “But the Three-Fifths Compromise, of course, was an effort by non-slave states to try to reduce the amount of representation that the slave states had. It was not impugning anybody’s humanity.”

For the record: The three-fifths compromise was an agreement between both slave-owning and non-slave-owning states to keep America running smoothly at the expense of Black people—there’s nothing about that that can be construed as not racist."

Yeah. As your cite described,

ISTM pretty legit to “try to reduce the amount of representation” that a state is claiming based on its population of enslaved people that it refuses to regard as people in any other capacity.

And Ben Shapiro knows that. He knows it very well.

He just says otherwise because it he profits from doing so.

Voldemort has issued a warning to all “woke corporations.” He actually thinks they are more afraid of him that he is of them. Who has the money, asshole?
