NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 1)

So why is he not wearing a mask when he’s leaving that luncheon, unlike Thune behind him? Is he talking to someone or does he not care as much as you claim?

no
I dont care as much as you claim.

Holy fuck! That is so insane…

Maybe you shouldn’t have started?

I said he was a supporter of mask use, I didint say he was any good at following his own advice.
Either you’re too stupid to understand the difference, or you’re a troll.

Get a room you two.

My bold.

This is the qualifier I’ve been waiting for. I’m satisfied.

Ted Cruz held a hearing yesterday about the evuhl vilence of antifa and Black Lives Matter and how they are out to destroy Amurrikkka. And he invited all of these renowned right wing experts on the evils of antifa and Black Lives Matter, surprisingly, not inviting any Black Lives Matter or antifa spokespeople to talk about their organizations. Democratic Senator Mazie Hirono, the ranking member, finally got full of the crap and got up and walked out. Cruz asked her to say something bad about antifa on the way out, and as she left without saying anything, then said that her silence was proof of the Democrat’s hatred of America, or something.

A Republican in the deep north of Michigan has some ideas about the reasons behind mask-wearing:

He can’t be fired directly by the county because he’s an elected official. The county could ask the Governor of Michigan to remove him, or the voters could petition to have him recalled.

I hope that they don’t ask the Governor to remove him. I think that the people of his county should take the required measures to recall him, and if they don’t, then that will tell the world something about who they are.

Also to Running Coach - masks are only necessary when social distancing cannot be maintained. Both of those pictures clearly show appropriate social distancing.

Mitch is a D-Bag, but these arguments are misguided.

From the New York Times, “Jerry Falwell Jr., one of President Trump’s most prominent and controversial evangelical supporters, agreed on Friday to take an indefinite leave of absence from his role as president and chancellor of Liberty University.”

BTW, this is how he explained that photo to a radio station (quote from the NYT article linked to), “Yeah, it was weird. She’s pregnant. She couldn’t get her pants zipped and I was like trying to like… I had on a pair of jeans I haven’t worn in a long time and couldn’t get zipped either. So, I just put my belly out like hers. She’s my wife’s assistant she’s a sweetheart. I should have never put it up and embarrassed her. I’ve apologized to everybody. I promised my kids I will try to be a good boy from here on out.”

Somehow I don’t regret never getting into the social media habit.

You and me both.

The National Association for Gun Rights claims that the NRA was never interested in supporting the Second Amendment.
Rival Gun Rights Group Accuses NRA of Never Advocating for Second Amendment Amid Lawsuit?

Well this other organization does not thrill me either… sounds like they are fully on board with mentally ill or other incapacitated people retaining weapons. I guess mass shootings by crazy people are the price we pay for “freedumz”

He suggests that lobbyists should be delivering Congress members hefty documents signed by individual Americans across the country to enact change—something he says the NAGR did last September against red flag laws, which allows for the temporary removal of firearms from a person who may present danger to themselves or others.

Former Maricopa County sheriff and convicted criminal Joe Arpaio lost his bid to represent the Republican Party in this year’s race for sheriff.

Why is this good news in the Stupid Republican Idea thread?

Because more than one-third of Maricopa County Republican primary voters voted for Arpaio despite his horrific human rights record and his criminal convictions. And because the guy who narrowly beat Arpaio in the primary was a long-time Arpaio deputy who still says that “Joe Arpaio did a great job for a long time.”

Sheridan’s official title under Arpaio was Chief Deputy. I always thought of him as Chief Enabler.

There was a third candidate, Mike Crawford, who garnered 26% of the vote with virtually no campaign. He was very careful in his platform and endorsements to never mention Arpaio or Trump, but he nay have been hiding things.

Trump apparently has long wanted to have his face on Mt. Rushmore:

https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/09/politics/mount-rushmore-trump-south-dakota/index.html

White House aides reached out to South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem last year about the process of adding additional presidents to Mount Rushmore, the New York Times reported.

According to a person familiar who spoke with the Times, Noem then greeted Trump when he arrived in the state for his July Fourth celebrations at the monument with a four-foot replica of Mount Rushmore that included his face.

Noem has noted before Trump’s “dream” to have his face on Mount Rushmore, the Coolidge-era sculpture that features the 60-foot-tall faces of Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt.

According to a 2018 interview with Noem, the two struck up a conversation about the sculpture in the Oval Office during their first meeting, where she initially thought he was joking. “I started laughing,” she said. “He wasn’t laughing, so he was totally serious.”

Just like the iDJiT to want the impossible.

Dammit, now I have to support blasting Mt. Rushmore to rubble.
