The GOP has been whining that Dems are saying “my way or the highway”, so how do they come back to the negotiating table? Why, with a bill that provides even less than they were previously offering, of course!
A comedian posted on Twitter, today, that Brock Turner, the Stanford student who infamously raped an unconscious woman behind a dumpster, had been invited to speak at the Republican National Convention.
It instantly got retweeted a few thousand times, and “trended,” despite being a joke (or what the comedian who posted it considered a joke).
Trump HAS appeared in public with at least one war criminal he’s pardoned (Eddie Gallagher). So people were primed to believe that Turner would be publicly embraced by the GOP.
I apologize if this has been mentioned, but Ben Shapiro and his wife are very concerned that Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion have wet ass p-word medical issues.
I always love it when Republicans have to jeer celebrities who support the Democrats; they are soooo desperate to have any big name celebrity hang out with them. Or at least, desperate enough to let Clint Eastwood have a ten minute conversation with an empty chair.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump said on Thursday he feels “very badly” about the arrest of his former close adviser Steve Bannon but knows nothing about the fundraising organization involved in the federal criminal case.
“I do think it’s a sad event,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “I haven’t dealt with him at all now for years, literally years.”
ETA: Bannon announces he’s writing a book in 3…2…1…
The SDNY needs to string out this prosecution so that it doesn’t culminate until after the election. As someone on Twitter noted, if there is anybody who has enough dirt on Trump to wrangle a pardon or a commutation, it’s Bannon…
Not necessarily. If Bannon is convicted and then pardoned, he loses any 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination wrt the case, so he could be called to testify against Kumquat at a later date and could not refuse to answer.
Yes, that would normally be the case. Of course, Bannon and his ilk do not come across like the sort of people who have any respect for the rule of law. If Bannon did try to refuse, the Dems should fully perp walk the guy into jail for contempt.
I was going to put this in the Bannon thread but I think it fits better here.
Here’s a great article on how the Republican Party has become the party of straight up grift.
It may be paywalled, but the links it contains aren’t.
There is a highly organized operation that specializes in selling conservative mailing lists to scammers.
ETA- I didn’t read this article fully before I posted the link. It’s 8 years old. They talk about what liar Romney is. Read it and weep, this is what outraged us 8 years ago. It also details the mailing list scam.
Mike Huckabee uses his mailing lists to hawk a secret biblical cancer cure.
Ben Carson uses his to sell another scam cancer cure.
And Herman Cain uses used his mailing lists to promote erectile dysfunction cures. Good luck with that.
This one isn’t in the WaPo article, but conservative Alan Keyes is a spokeperson for a cure-all that consists of literally drinking bleach. Not just any bleach, a special very expensive bleach.
Lets not forget the aggressive legislative actions by Orrin Hatch and Rand Paul to completely deregulate and kill all oversight of “dietary supplements”.
And the NRA scam. I don’t think there’s anything legitimate left. No wonder conservatives have no consumer power, they’re being bled dry.
It’s hurting the Trump campaign in a big way, and they’re noticing. There’s a long list of pro-Trump PAC’s that aren’t affiliated with his campaign, soliciting donations and sucking up MAGAbot dollars - and they seem to siphon off most of the donations to “consulting firms”. Then there are all the people selling unofficial Trump merchandise.
So the President of Trump U, the king of grift, is getting played. It is what it is.
