NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 1)

The virus can pass from the mother to the fetus, who can be born with COVID. I rather suspect that being on a ventilator isn’t very good for it, either.

There’s an early movement to report fake abortions to overwhelm the phone number and the organization that has to process them.

I like that! :+1:t4:

I bet you’re right. He has to sit all alone at lunch, eating his beloved shit sandwiches, while the other grubby sub-demons of death laugh at him.

Poor, poor Ron DeStructive!

Yeah, that helps.

Another day, another anti-mask/Vax activist dying of covid and leaving a pregnant wife behind.

From article:
“Wallace founded the “San Angelo Freedom Defenders” and organized a July “Freedom Rally” for those “sick of the government being in control of our lives.”
Wallace, who was 30, leaves behind three children and a pregnant wife.”

Bye, dead guy. Freedom isn’t free. It’s regretful that you probably took some others with you. Enjoy your dead freedom.
(By the way, you look (looked) a little like Ricky from Trailer Park Boys. Too bad you weren’t as smart as him.)

And here’s another one for the “The Republican Party is a death cult” file; Governor. Tate Reeds (C19-MS), whose state has a higher per capity fatality rate than New York, says not to worry about covid because, unlike Democrats, Jesus will give them eternal life.

Another right-wing anti-vaxxer news pundit has died from COVID.

The other day, Loser Donald called into Hugh Hewitt’s show to ramble and back in the adulation of his echo chamber. Hewitt asked him about his meeting last year with Taliban leader (and now de facto president of Afghanistan) Abdul Ghani Baradar.

He proceeded to spew forth about three and a half minutes worth of word salad;

There’s a lot to unpack there, and I couldn’t write Trumpesque word salad of that quality if I tried.

It really was very special. I’d like to listen to it with my family and then ask them if they’re really sure this guy should be in charge of anything.

Irrelevant, because Republicans don’t believe the President is in charge of anything. The government never does anything, so therefore the President isn’t in charge of anything. He’s nothing but a symbol… but to Republicans, symbols are more important than the things they symbolize.

I know it’s been mentioned many times before, but reading the last dozen or so posts, I can’t help but notice the right-winger irony between how it’s not ok for the government to be in control of your body when it comes to COVID vaccination, but it’s completely ok for the government to be in control of your body when it comes to abortion.

Megyn Kelly tried to criticize the US Open tennis tournament for setting aside “quiet rooms” and mental health providers for tennis players who are struggling. She said, “Good Lord please never let the snowflakes who need this sign up for our military.” She got excoriated on Twitter, with some people reminding us that she went ballistic on air over whether Santa Claus doesn’t have to be white, and other people replying that if the US military actually took better mental health care of their members and veterans, there wouldn’t be 22 veterans committing suicide every day.

Imagine finding out one day that your father died because he was grandstanding against a global pandemic which had already killed millions.

I think the way they reconcile those is that in abortion, the only body that matters is that of the fetus.

The thing surrounding the body (the body being the fetus), which permits it to grow, is just a thing. An ‘incubator’ thing. That has no rights. Because it’s just a thing.

Saw an article a few days ago in which a pediatric nurse discussed delivering (usually premature) babies of unvaccinated women who were dying, on ventilators, but their partner had opted to try and save the baby. Delivery was delayed as long as possible, but eventually the mother deteriorated and the risk of losing the baby outweighed the benefits of more time in the womb. The nurse’s final question was: these women consider the dangers of the vaccine to their baby, but do they ever consider the dangers of not being vaccinated to their baby.

Or imagine your child and half her classmates got infected by some piece of shit ‘teacher’ who invoked ‘muh freedumz’ Honestly, if I had kids, and if that teacher had infected them, she would need to be placed in protective custody.

Gubernatorial candidate Steve Lynch (NSDAP-PA) says “strong men” should forcibly overthrow school boards that attempt to protect children from covid.

That couldn’t keep its knickers up.

That’s why the majority of them say abortion is okay, because then it’s not the thing’s fault and does not deserve to be punished.
