NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 1)

No, I think, as I said above, that they should have only drive-thru if they’re going to be this way. Lining up indoors just to order to-go should be ruled out, I feel.

Plenty of fast food restaurants in my area were doing that even during the “absolutely no dine-in” phase of the pandemic.

I take it you’ve never worked a customer service job before?

You tried making a comparison to IDing for alcohol before, which was not relevant, as very are very few who will get verbally or even physically abusive about being asked for their ID for alcohol purchases. Doubly irrelevant, as In n Out doesn’t serve alcohol in the first place.

You try to make this sound like a reasonable thing, but you are not understanding that the people being asked for their vaccine card are not always going to be reasonable.

At the very least, you are going to get a screaming match several times a day, often during the busiest, and it will not be too infrequent or that employee to get a fist in the face for their troubles.

9 1/2 years in fast food, 10 1/2 in grocery, and I’ve been a supervisor/manager for most of my time in both industries.

Yes, some people get angry about being carded. Some of them raise their voice. If they do, I refuse sale and tell them to leave. The only time anyone’s ever thrown a punch at me, though, was when I was helping LP with some shoplifters. People who like to try to argue the rules with you tend to give up when they realize you’re not going to change your mind and the other customers think they’re an asshole.

According to this Raw Story thumbnail of an article, DWAC opened at $118 and dropped to about $67 that day, but the article didn’t make clear just when MTG got her $50K into the pot. It is suggested that she lost a pile, but that isn’t quite clear. Apparently, she did lose something, as it was going steadily down all that day (and since)?

Loser Donald now thinks Bill Barr was part of the plot to rig the election against him.

an angry letter written

…by somebody smart enough to spell “Zuckerberg” correctly, but dumb enough to work for Trump.

Well, if Loser Donald had written it himself, he’d have called him “Mark Facebook”.

Didn’t Donald actually do slightly better in Philly metro in '20 than he did four years earlier?

Trumpublicans is stoopid.

I see that Mittens Romney is doubling down on the importance of our country’s billionaires. Approaching “too big to fail” territory. “We need them.”

Good grief! It’s not like the Dems plan to bankrupt them, strip them of all their property and assets and send them to homeless shelters. They should be able to eke out a tolerable lifestyle minus a few million $$. After all, some Democrats are wealthy, too. The country needs money to run, FFS.

Is it more desirable to bankrupt small businesses and middle class families?

Silly question. :woman_facepalming:t4: Of course it is.

Oh, and by the way, fuck every Republican that’s pretending that they ever gave a fuck about either workplace safety or gun safety, unless they were trying to eliminate it to make a buck or protect their “freedoms”. Fuck them all.

Say the guy who made his money by raping and killing off companies and leaving nothing but the corpse for the lower level workers.

You being a management-type, I have no doubt that you do. Are your rank-and-file workers granted the same authority?

Just curious.

Team, Mittens is doing some bizarre ‘Ted Lasso’ thing on social media, even including Sinema in the ‘joke’.

I don’t know what any of that refers to, but I shudder at picturing Mitt’s body as day-old rice.

Also, nothing bad happens if you don’t warm up day-old rice.

I haven’t posted this article in a while, but it’s a must read for anyone that’s interested in how the Republican Party turned into the party of grift.

The article was written in 2012, and if you need any indication as to how far we’ve fallen since then, their Republican villain, the amoral lying politician that epitomized the descent of the party into mendacity, was………Mitt Romney. Note the illustration that accompanies the article.

He’s the guy that was fine with helping plan the bank robbery and waiting in the running car outside the bank, but balked when they told him he’d have to shoot the teller to get his share of the loot. Now he thinks this qualifies as heroic and he wants you to feel bad for him because the other bank robbers are mean to him.

Actually, day-old rice is the best for making fried rice. Of course, that does involve warming it up.

As someone who’s more than once eaten un-reheated refrigerated cooked rice with no ill effects whatsoever, I have to concur. Where do people think rice salad comes from, anyway?

They certainly have the authority to card people and refuse sale.

If the customer has a problem with that, they call me and I back them up.
