The r/InsanePeopleFacebook subreddit has decided that Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene are too easy and is no longer allowing posts from them in the subreddit.
There’s a bill before the Oklahoma state legislature that would allow a single individual to demand that a book be taken out of a school library, and if it isn’t removed immediately, the school librarian will be fired, not be allowed to work as a librarian for two years, and the person making the demand will get $10,000 a day until the book is removed.
Just pandering to the wingnuts who support him. The Oklahoma legislative sessions are full of this crap to make the idiots happy. Some even get enacted, defended in court, before being struck down by the OK Supreme court which, even though very conservative, still acts an adult body.
The Kansas Democratic party has been calling for his resignation since he took office earlier this year.
As one who was born and raised on a farm in Kansas, I take more than a little umbrage at the broad brush you’re using here. These fucking lunatics put a lot of food on the tables of Americans.
Our gracious overlords, those blessed by The Lord by being born in the top 1% of wealth, know that we masses would be MUCH, MUCH happier if untroubled by information or facts. And far too many books do, indeed, contain information and facts.
And so they’re pretty much modeling an assault on the first amendment on the recent Texas abortion law, exactly as everyone not a compete idiot expected them to do.
In the True American Fashion, they’ve decided to outsource governmental oppression to a private, profit-motivated third party.
I can see it ending with several whackos putting in for a shitload of $10K bounties, then in anticipation of receiving their windfalls, going on spending sprees, like the villagers in *The Visit.”
Put it on my account.
Then SCOTUS finds the laws unconstitutional, the bounties uncollectible, and the debts valid. Hilarity ensues.
