Oh, yeah. That’s not worrisome at all, no way, no how.
From the link:
Republican U.S. Senate candidate on Wednesday thanked the Proud Boys, a far-right group with a history of violent confrontations, for providing security at a rally in Delaware.
Lauren Witzke’s tweet came a day after President Donald Trump was asked to condemn white supremacist and militia groups during Tuesday’s presidential debate.
In response, Trump asked for a specific group and Democratic rival Joe Biden cited the Proud Boys – identified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Trump did not denounce the group, instead saying, “Proud Boys, stand back and stand by.”
When asked for further comment about her tweet, Witzke, in a written statement, criticized the negative labeling of these groups and cited the media as playing a damaging role in the national rhetoric.
Oh, you really need to read the rest of it to see how off the wall she is.
This isn’t new, of course, but the stupidity and consequences of science denial may be starting to be apparent to the knuckleheads. A running tab of how many senior GOPians being struck down by Rona due to their own stupidity (or hubris) might be informative. So here you go.
If only they had warned us (they did, repeatedly). If only someone had an existing plan to deal with a pandemic (even Turtle admitted they were given one). If only an office in the White House existed to respond to these diseases (it was closed down). If only after studying the disease, a method to slow or reduce transmission was readily available and simple to execute (wearing masks and social distancing).
Always remember: Donald Trump, “I am not responsible.”
This should be cross posted in the “Controversial encounters between law-enforcement and civilians - the omnibus thread #2”.
" When the school’s principal asked police to arrest Bundy, officers refused, telling the station he “wasn’t out of control and didn’t appear to be a threat to anybody.”
IANAL but it seems to me that once the principal says he’s no longer welcome on school grounds, he’s trespassing. And for them to say that “Oh, he seems harmless” is to given him a pass that few people of color ever get.
Seven staffers of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton have informed him that they have reported him to the federal DOJ on bribery and abuse of office charges.
