That is surprising, because for as long as I can remember, Kansas driver’s exams have always been open book. (And I’ve been living here since 1980.) On the other hand, I never had to take a motorcycle test - I took an MSF course and got an automatic motorcycle endorsement when I completed the course.
This was 1982, so if it really was open book and no one told me, I’m retroactively annoyed.
Would never have occurred to me to ask - it brings to mind someone driving down the highway and pulling out their handbook - “how soon do I have to activate my turn signal?”
Obviously motorcycle can’t be open book. The pamphlet would blow out of your hands.
That would completely own the libtards! I hope Kiss My Ass doesn’t do this!
It was just goat felching when I joined. I’ve never seen the squid.
If you see the squid, you’re not doing it right.
Blake Masters: The economy is in bad shape (Note: it isn’t) because Biden appointed so many minorities to the Federal Reserve.
Every American who complains about “socialism” should be forced to pay huge user fees for the use of public schools and non-toll roads. And every Canadian, those plus medical care.
Problem is, we all use the public schools, whether we have spawn or not (and even if we ourself had wholly private schooling). Education has such a total fungibility that charging parent-types for their children’s use of public schools becomes punitive and poorly targeted.
True enough but I was just expressing my frustration at the BS, hypocritical anti-socialism rhetoric so frequently heard.
Well, the simplest approach would be to publiize the names and addresses of the gold fringe people, under the assumption that fee-based a la carte public services include those provided by the constabulary. Persistent postings that make it easy for just anyone to show up at their home and have, uh, a discussion.
If you think of schools in terms of education, that’s true; we all benefit from having, and continuing to have, an educated populace. But what if we view it in the context of child care? How much would it cost for a family to have a group of trained professionals look after their 8-year-old for 7 hours a day, 180 days a year? Heck, some schools will pick the kid up and drop him off right at his door. I don’t know that the same societal benefit applies to taking care of a child so that mom can go back to work.
NOTE: I’m not advocating that, just continuing the thought experiment suggested by velomont.

Sarah Palin lost the special Congressional election to fill the empty seat until the end of this term. There will be another election in November to fill the seat for the next term starting in January.
Alaska is using ranked choice voting for the first time. I’m sure Palin will claim the election was stolen.
I’m sure her ex in laws are dancing. They went all out on campaigning against her.
SWEET!
Well that’s good god damn news!
Are you sure you don’t mean desparate? or something?
I really hope that this result increases the visibility and popularity of RCV around the country.
Anecdotally, it looks like Palin’s attempts to trash Begich instead of trying to win a place as his voters’ second choice bit her in her MAGA ass.
Whatever the spell checker says is fine by me. [yes, another one for the blooper reel of my life, now measured in terabytes]
