Just out of idle curiosity…how did they get through airport security? After all, they’re undocumented, right?
Jesus Christ.
I think the Dems should send a busload of newborn babies to Amy Coney Barrett’s house.
Charter, not commercial, I assume.
I believe most are seeking amnesty? Crossing the border is a misdemeanor, the individuals are given a hearing date and released to social services or relatives.
I guess I was too subtle. Isn’t one of the talking points from the GOB Party (B = Bigots) that those coming over the border are possibly terrorists? That means that flight screening isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be or these migrants are not a threat.
Yep, pretty much. Or close enough, anyway; “undesirables,” at any rate. I looked in on a right-wing message board, and saw such tidbits as the following in a thread about the migrants who were flown to Massachusetts and bussed to Washington DC:
Also, from the same thread, what the Democrats’ master plan is, in allowing, indeed welcoming (as other comments in that thread made plain), these migrants into the United States:
I’m not entirely sure what to make of such comments. They seem sincere; the message board indicates their join date and number of posts, and these commenters have been active enough for so long that they don’t seem to be of the “create a login and post once or twice” type. And if they’ve been able to make comments like this for so long and so often (and it seems they have), then I really don’t know what to think.
Somebody on one of my landlord’s channels (he’s watching in his bedroom, so I don’t know which one, or whom) seems to be having a nervous breakdown on stage. Overheard: “PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!” and “U-S-A! U-S-A!” And maybe even “You’re gonna die!”
Anyone have anything on this? Honestly, it sounds like a slightly more unhinged Gulf War-era Hulk Hogan.

Agents of the Department of Homeland Security were involved in the shipping of the immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard. All of the immigrants were processed by DHS agents, who randomly listed their home addresses as homeless shelters across the country. They were then ordered to check in with the ICE office closest to the “address”. So people sent to Martha’s Vineyard were told that they had to check in with ICE agencies in Tacoma, Washington, DC, San Antonio, etc. by Monday, even though they’re in Massachusetts.
That’s a remarkable claim, so here’s a citation for it.
Fire and prosecute them all.
No, don’t do that–ACB would distribute the babies among her ultra-right People of Praise group, and gain great prestige.
The fate of those children would be horrific.
This surely merits investigation. How could any of the alleged actions be defended as legitimate?
Ted Cruz tweeted out a list of places for DeSantis and Abbott to send immigrants next, including Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where Biden has his vacation home.
Ted also allegedly sent out a tweet condemning Massachusetts for calling up the National Guard to help with the immigrants at Martha’s Vineyard, but deleted it when it was pointed out to him that he Guard was raised by the Republican governor of Massachusetts.
ISTM that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to create a program where immigrants could be sent all over the country in an organized, sponsored way. Especially to areas that need workers, either unskilled or that could be readily trained like factory, construction, agricultural, restaurants. Local private and government groups could be funded with tax dollars to sponsor them.
One thing’s for sure; there are no American citizens who want jobs picking tomatoes for 12 hours a day. These jobs are going to have to be filled by people who worked hard to be here in the first place, for the chance of a better life for themselves and their children.
I don’t think Republicans truly realize how horrible it would be for the economy if we sent all illegal immigrants “back where they came from”.
I’ve always thought they should let companies looking for workers, like agricultural and food processing companies - set up offices at the border so they can interview, sponsor and hire immigrants.
It’s been tried. It went…poorly.
The Bracero program controlled immigration for agriculture work. It was ended in the 60s, and was replaced with a program designed to get American teenagers to work in the fields, until the teenagers started striking because the conditions were so bad.
I’m certain that most companies that end hiring undocumented workers (either purposefully or by being purposely blind to their status) treat them fairly well, even those companies would rather them be undocumented so that they can be paid less and be less likely to complain.
And of course the exploiters would absolutely lobby strongly against any scheme that would bring them into the legal workforce.
