Sure, if you pass the Bailey’s.
Technically correct as it is a memorial for the correct response to those who seceded. (except for the Confederate Soldiers of the Wilder Brigade, which of course didn’t exist.)
I’m actually surprised there wasn’t a lot more of this during the Trump administration.
Kari Lake thinks Martin Luther King and JFK would be MAGA Republicans if they were alive today.
Unfortunately, the people that message is aimed at aren’t familiar enough with history to know differently.
Those, however, are not the people who actually, in Lake’s view, need convincing. They probably already believe it.
To be charitable, she did not say Trump or MAGA or Make America Great Again. She said America First Republicans. Of course, she is very wrong about the Republican part, but the “America First” part is one of their patented garbage phrases that sounds happy and nice on it’s surface - what American wouldn’t put America First? But, we know that the phrase has a far more sinister history when you dig underneath.
Right, but even John F Kennedy was a member of America First.
I suspect it’s less about convincing them as it is, issuing the new talking points. We’ve seen this for years now. MAGA Pundit says “Something Outrageous”, and then Something Outrageous starts showing up all over the internet, as everyone’s racist uncle parrots the new talking point. It lets them feel like they’ve “won” the argument on Facebook, even though everyone else can see the argument is bullshit.
I mean, people are saying…
Doug Mastriano makes some, uh, strange accusations about his opponent.
I hope he gets sued.
Sounds like Doug is genuinely mentally ill.
Newsmax has decreed that Lara Logan, who was recently fired by Fox for her racist comments, will no longer be allowed back on Newsmax after she said that the UN is planning on bringing 100 million immigrants into the US to dilute the blood.
Christ, I can empathize with Logan and what she was subjected to overseas, but the woman is in need of serious professional help. I don’t mean that facetiously; I hope her family and friends can stage some sort of intervention.
With the Dominion suit already in the pipeline, they have to put some limits on the crazy before they get into even more trouble.
Judge dismisses voter fraud charge in Florida.
Ha ha!
Nice waste of money, Deathasantis. Maybe you can recoup some by decrying the soft on crime liberal judges?
Unfortunately it was thrown out due to a jurisdiction technicality rather than because it is grade A bullshit.
But (hopefully? maybe?) the reason for the statewide prosecutor to handle these was because Desantis couldn’t convince county level prosecutors to go after these cases.
What worried me most about that article was this “Statewide prosecutors argued that the alleged crimes were committed in Leon County in addition to Miami-Dade County, because the defendants’ applications and votes were later transmitted to the Department of State in Tallahassee.”
In order for it to be in the jurisdiction of the statewide prosecutor it has to occur in two different counties. I assume the spirit of that rule is meant for handling people that did some fraud in one county and then did some more fraud in another county. Similar to how doing something illegal in Wisconsin and also doing it in Illinois will likely make it a federal case.
However, they argued that it happened in two different counties because the person voted in one county and that information was electronically sent to a different county. I’m glad the judge threw out that line of reasoning, but I worry other prosecutors may pick it up and run with it.
Where would that end? If I rob a liquor store and put the cash in my bank account, will it be a federal crime when the bank (internally) shuffles the money around and it resides on a server in another state? Should the crimes my friends and I discussed over email go from local to federal because the messages passed through a server in another state?
Getting back to the voter fraud part of this, if a judge allows statewide prosecutor to pursue this charge based on that, it wouldn’t surprise me if a lot of (GOP) election officials come up with a reason to make sure all votes are transmitted from one judicial circuit to another just to help trump up any potential charges.
