NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

The Missouri House has voted to let children open-carry.

“Shart in the Forest” really needs to catch on

The president of SpaceX revealed the company has taken active steps to prevent Ukrainian forces from using the critical Starlink satellite technology with Ukrainian drones that are a key component of their fight against Russia.

Apart from the general subject – the roll call sequences with the Clerks’ call and response edits are just grand.

Republicans always back the blue, well, unless they ask for something to make their jobs easier. Not if it limits guns suckers!

Let’s let them drink alcohol, too. It doesn’t mean that they are going to get drunk. We don’t know that yet.

Drunk 14-year-olds carrying AR-15s is no basis for a system of government!

Jim Jordan: “I got these new mints that taste like Florida. They taste kinda bad, though.”

Possibly the truest thing to ever issue forth from his lips.

George Santos stole a number of puppies worth $15,000 from Amish dog breeders in 2017 by paying for them with bad checks. He then sold the puppies at an “adoption event” at a pet store on Staten Island.

Yeah, why not just let teenagers exercise all the constitutional rights of adults? Oh right, then we’d have to let them get gender-affirming medical treatment if they want it. Can’t have that!

The Republican goal clearly seems to be to keep dangerous crime-ridden inner-city areas (inhabited by “those people”, you know) as dangerous and crime-ridden as possible by facilitating more gun violence in them. While simultaneously encouraging their constituents in other areas to arm themselves to the max, to protect themselves against dangerous and violent “those people” (and, in “freedom patriot” fantasy at least, against the evil socialist government that is unjustly favoring “those people”).

IMHO this strategy is going to continue to work for them as long as they can keep their conservative constituents convinced that white conservative gun fanatics will only shoot “those people” and liberals. When some white conservative gun fanatics get delusional enough and angry enough about imagined “betrayals” to start shooting other white conservatives on ideological grounds, I don’t really know what the Republicans are going to do.

Like if they bump into one.

Tax cuts, obviously.

Blame those people, as usual.

Santos claims that someone stole one of his checkbooks and wrote those bad checks. Which could be true, as a police officer said the check signatures did not match his DL signature.

But it still seems odd that he was hosting a charity event involving puppy adoption (and apparently DJTing the proceeds to himself). He said that someone “stole” his checks, but “someone” could easily be a person he knew and was in league with.

Which might be believable if he wasn’t already under criminal investigation for check fraud in Brazil.

The Crumbleys vs The McCloskeys?

That’s what I don’t get, unless I’m missing something … if someone stole his checkbook and wrote a bunch of checks for puppies, how did he end up with the puppies to offer for adoption?

Couldn’t “someone” just be Santos, having moved a pen from his right hand to his left?

I’m sure Rep. Lovasco is an ardent opponent of stop-and-frisk and drivers being pulled over for Driving While Not White. I can just imagine his passionate defense of a bill making stop-and-frisk illegal.

While it may be intuitive that a person of color(*) has no legitimate purpose, it doesn’t actually mean that they’re going to harm someone. We don’t know that yet.

(*) I hope I didn’t accidentally disarm a nuclear bomb by typing that phrase.

I saw this as a response to the booing at the SOTU address.

He’s speaking to the assholes who believe a clown with a bad spray tan can declassify documents through thought alone while simultaneously believing any such documents didn’t exist in the first place and were planted by nefarious bad actors.

Thinking is clearly not a strong suit with any of them
