NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

About the censure, one noble soul said “We must preserve the integrity of the U.S House of Representatives.” Who is this modern Diogenes, this lion of the House?

George Santos, of course, just before he said he was off to his second job as a pediatric neurosurgeon.

My favorite part of this is “Boebert subsequently told CNN: “Like I said, I’m not in middle school.””…after >checks notes< she got into a fight with another kid because she stole her homework.

I’m pretty sure that was a scene in Mean Girls.

Apparently, the reason the Titanic sub is missing is that it’s too woke.

“There’s been lawsuits, there’s been accusations about slashing regulations. He’s quoted as saying he didn’t hire a bunch of 50-year-old White guys with military experience because he didn’t want his vessels to be—not inspirational for a younger generation. I don’t care who is in these vessels, I just want them to be experienced and safe. And if you’re gonne be woke, you might have to—”

Watters paused and collected himself.

Sure you do Jesse, sure you, and all the other conservatives that have never seen a regulation that they don’t oppose, do.

Come now, you can’t seriously expect Boebert to know what middle school is like. It’s not like she’s ever been there.

Are “middle-aged white guys with military experience” and “woke” mutually exclusive states of being?

people who have uteruses might beg to differ on that

We all know ‘woke’ is the latest dog-whistle for whoever they consider undesirables, so, yes, in their minds, those are mutually exclusive.

Any middle aged white guys with military experience who say or think the wrong things are clearly “woke-traitors” or whatever the current dog-whistle term for such people is.

Yes. If you’re not exclusively employing ex-special forces men, you might as well be wearing a dress.

Fortunately there are a lot of ex-Navy Seals out there who do support the Republicans…or so they claim on the internet…

I’d suggest that these two lines, regarding referring to these people as woke, show that they are using that word as nothing more than an insult an meant to cause pain. Especially considering how (based on my reading) he stopped himself when he realized what he was saying. Not that we didn’t know it already, but it’s always nice when they spell it out for us, unprompted.
Also, it just another example of the right willfully taking a word and adding so many definitions to it that becomes useless to the left and a boogeyman to the right.

I don’t want to say it because I don’t want to put these people’s legacies through that…

and

It’s a story for a bar; that way you can talk about the things and you can be politically incorrect

Read, “You can say these things in a bar without getting sued” for “you can be politically incorrect.” I get the feeling that the Infowars/Sandy Hook award and the Dominion settlement may have made at least some of the remaining Fox people a little more cautious.

It’s like those (cruel IMHO) collars they put on dogs to teach them the limits of the yard.

They probably wouldn’t have if it weren’t for the fact that the submarine was full of billionaires.

If it had been a school field trip, they wouldn’t have held back.

(Poe’s law warning)

The GOP isn’t about racism and sexism they are about meritocracy. They are about hiring the best people and if you aren’t hiring exclusively white males then clearly you aren’t hiring the best people. Nope no racism at all.

Greg Gutfield, talking to his fellow Fox News choads about the submersible:

“It’s a hard story for TV commentary because none of us are experts,” he said.

I…I just don’t know where to start with that.

I strongly disagree! They’re all accredited experts at being choads! Choad-itry?

Two cheeks held together by one asshole.

Chef’s kiss.
