Florida has a “Homestead rule” that makes it hard for people who win a judgment against a resident to collect it against that person’s house. It’s one of the reasons O.J. Simpson moved to the state after the civil suit.

A few years back, a prestigious local advertising agency hired Mr. Ice to perform at the most important annual awards ceremony. Everyone but Vanilla knew it was tounge in cheek - ad people are deeply cynical - but perform he did. My sister in law attended, and while she is a really nice person, she works in advertising… and laughed. One hit wonder. Poor guy.
