NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3)

Keep America Grate!

Here come the grifters, one two three…

It’s all part of my their fantasy.

Which, may be, a violation of GoFundMe’s TOS,

F. not to use the Services on behalf of a third party or post any personal data or other information about a third party, without the express consent of that third party;

According to Jeff Tiedrich, as of this morning the fund had garnered the tremendous sum of $12,204.

But I’m sure there’ll be plenty of donors: https://twitter.com/theclevertwit/status/1758844540671123844/photo/1

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand a Xit from the same thread reports that the campaign has already been removed.

I’m wondering if there is some way I can donate a tiny violin.

Like this, perhaps?

If that coin was designed by a Trump supporter, couldn’t they at least have given him a less unflattering chin?

Not kidding, you can get sneakers to show your support for the Con-Man. The announcement danced around the “vote for …” that would get him in trouble for campaign finance issues. Besides, he isn’t getting the money (shhhh - probably got paid for Name, Image, Likeness up front). It’s SneakerCon president that just happens to be a Con-Man contributor. (I also like the “Con” in SneakerCon - nice touch - touching the rubes).

I love how my first reaction is “awesome”, but then the comments progressively point out all the errors that I hadn’t paid attention to.

The tardigrade is bowing below the bridge.
It is holding the bow wrong.
It’s supposed to be a violin, but that’s a cello.
That’s not the tardigrade’s head end, it’s the rear end.

(Okay, I’m pretty sure the last one is wrong.)

I’m a bit puzzled by what that means exactly. If a kid is dying of cancer, surely I’m allowed to start a GoFundMe to send them to Disneyland, they don’t have to do it themselves?

My guess is that you might claim that’s why you’re starting the fund but there’s no way to ensure that the money is received by the intended recipient.

So I’m really not allowed to do that?

I’m reading it to say you can, so long as the person receiving the benefit (or their guardian, I guess) consents.

You’re allowed to start a GoFundMe to send a kid dying of cancer to Disneyland if you have, the express consent of that third party;.

I don’t think you understand how hardcore tardigrades are. He probably put down his violin to allow his back legs to do the cello finalé

And now, here’s one journalist’s account of riding along with the “patriot convoy” that was going to save the Texas border from Joe Biden only to instead turn into a sad Boomer version of Burning Man.

I wish we had Hunter S. Thompson around. He’d have had a field day with these buffoons.

No, the gofundme is still there. It’s up to $110,000 now. Only $354,890,000 to go. From the comments, it appears that some people are donating $5 just to tell Trump supporters how stupid they are.

Yikes-- the comments on the GFM site! :woman_facepalming:t3:

He says some of the attendees were from Canada. Maybe there are a lot of Canadians obsessed with US politics.
