NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3)

Good for her. Marrying someone outside of the LDS faith is not grounds for excommunication/withdrawal of membership. LDS bishops and branch presidents even allowed by their church to officiate at such interfaith marriages.

Exile to where?

I thought the difference was if you were king, you’d get to off your wife(s) should they displease you. Not being a king my self, the difference was moot.

And Massachusetts, - only the best and brightest GQP :face_with_spiral_eyes:.

A nice camp farm upstate where they can chase rabbits all day.

Mammals: A mammal is kosher if it has split hooves and chews its cud. It must have both kosher signs. Examples: cows, sheep, goats and deer are kosher; pigs, rabbits, squirrels, bears, dogs, cats, camels and horses are not .

Yeah, that tracks.

Nothing was specified about catching and/or eating.

Sound like Taz’s list.

The impeachment of Joe Biden seems to rest on the testimony of dubious characters. Doubtless, they’re all victims of the Deep State!

especially rabbits

I’m waiting for Republicans to bring in Putin as a witness against Biden. I mean, why not?

A Republican in Kentucky government is introduced a bill that would eliminate the requirements for employers having to supply lunch breaks, among other things.

Among the more egregious things, the bill would also:

  • Prevent employers from being punished for not paying minimum wage or overtime pay when an employee is traveling to and from a workplace.

  • Prevent employers from being punished for not paying minimum wage or overtime pay for activities a worker does before or after a worker’s “principal” work activity.

  • Eliminate a state statute requiring employers to compensate employees with overtime pay on the seventh consecutive day of work for those who are requested to work at least 40 hours a week

Damn. He really does miss the good old days of slavery, doesn’t he?

Sorry - typo. That should have read “chasing rabbis all day”.

Are rabbis generally very athletic? That doesn’t seem like great exercise, apart from in the intellectual sense of talking with one.

“Silly rabbi! Kicks are for Trids!”

Aw, you beat me to it!

I didn’t realize this hijack was also going to run…

I must be misunderstanding this point, because ‘traveling to and from a workplace’ sounds like a ‘commute’ to me. And very few employers, if any, pay for commuting time.

What am I missing?

If you have to travel from your Lexington office to your Louisville office, you should get paid for time (and mileage if you’re using your own vehicle).

I think it means things like (for example) you work for an appliance repair shop. You are at the shop, and then you have to travel 22 miles to a customer site to repair a washing machine. Now, you must be paid a salary while you travel to the customer site. What they want is for you to do all the travelling to customer sites on your own time.

ETA: Also: “Prevent employers from being punished for not paying minimum wage or overtime pay for activities a worker does before or after a worker’s “principal” work activity.”

Sounds very much like “After work, pick up my drycleaning, take it to my house and then wash my car and mow my lawn. And fuck no I"m not paying you to do that.”
