The way these things usually get enforced is after the fact if there is an accident they can get you for negligence, or if they are investigating some other crime they can at their discretion* decide to tack on an another charge if they see an unsecured firearm.
This seems like a good time to remind everyone that Trump sets up these tournaments, sometimes before the club has even opened, but makes himself the only player, wins and gives himself an award. Something he’s been doing for decades.
Reilly said in the Vox interview Trump told him whenever he opens a new golf course he plays the first club championship by himself and declares himself to be the champion and puts his name on the wall.
“Trump doesn’t just cheat at golf,” Reilly wrote. "He throws it, boots it, and moves it. He lies about his lies. He fudges and foozles and fluffs. At Winged Foot, where Trump is a member, the caddies got so used to seeing him kick his ball back onto the fairway they came up with a nickname for him: ‘Pele.’”
True, but I meant that in the hypothetical situation where the cops didn’t have a reason to be in your house already, like if a kid shot someone with a gun you left laying around.
If the rule is indeed “if you’re not carrying your gun, lock it up” there’s no need for such a carve-out – farmers who use guns to defend against marauding predators (or homicidal cows) would presumably be carrying them.
You don’t think they’d just keep it near the door? Plus, I would guess that a lot of farmers trying to keep things like coyotes and wolves away are going to be using a long gun, not something you’d really want holstered to your body when you’re laying on the couch watching TV.
Thinking about this a bit more, I think it would be reasonable to only allow this [leaving guns out in your house, on your farm] if there was an additional requirement that no one under 18 can live there or otherwise have unsupervised access to the house. Basically, protect your livestock, but if you have a high school aged kid living with you, the gun needs to be locked up if you’re not carrying it.
Regardless, these all seem like mostly reasonable reasons for or against it. So why are the people pushing back against the bill concerned with their kids getting trampled to death by cows?
I know that article said there’s only a few deaths per year like that, but I’m curious if being trampled by cows is still a bigger concern than this city kid is aware of or if it was just one stupid comment that went viral because it’s stupid.
I like how in that putting video, El Turdo puts his hands up to his head in total surprise that the shitbird actually sunk that three-footer. I’m sure the cheering was done out of exasperation / derision. Unless, of course, they’re genuine MAGAts. Gotta wonder what’s really going through their heads, sorta like these Russian hockey pros contending with some absolute fucking gimp on skates, here, in the form of Putin. Potted eight goals this game.
Imagine checking him - what would happen to you?
They get elected because people are this stupid. I’ve said before in these situations “They’re not stupid, they just assume/know you’re stupid enough to believe them”.
Meanwhile, Matt Schlapp says that covid lockdowns caused the bridge collapse, while Sabatini says it happened because of WOKE, and Bartilomo says it was Mexicans.
Cool. If they’re blaming Biden for the bridge collapse in Baltimore, does that mean we can blame Trump for the entirety of covid? After all I think Trump can actually be blamed for that due to his dismantling of the pandemic response team.
(Please note that there was some controversy at the time over how to describe this action. Some new stories reported they were fired, but it turns out I think some of them were fired but others were moved to other departments. The story linked below seems to be accurate to the best of my knowledge.)
Lee Greenwood and Donald Trump are endorsing the God Bless the USA Bible. Yours for only $59.99, more than twice what you would pay for a similar edition.
But wait – there’s more:
Their website says it ships from Alabama, but doesn’t mention where it’s printed. I emailed them asking about that. I’m not expecting an answer.
