You got ditch water? You were lucky, all we ever got was rat’s piss, assuming we could lick it off the wall before it dried up. I mean, once I tried Coke, it made me nostalgic for rat’s piss – then I tried Pepsi and had to go lick a wall to get the taste out of my mouth.
Damn, dude. No wonder you’re bald!
“Cheeseburger, cheeseburger, cheeseburger… no Coke - Pepsi…”
I live in a crackhouse. With a family of 12. Every night we spoon for warmth. Everybody fights for Noelle. She’s the fattest. There’s nothing that we don’t share. Floor space, dental floss, even condoms.
The Aristocrats?
That explains many things…
Man, we were poor as hell when I was growing up. Peanuts and a coke would have been quite the treat.
I thought the Craigslist ads were to boost attendance. His numbers are not what they used to be.
(looks up at the screen headder) This is the pit - swearing is allowed. Don’t need to redact, you can call her a lying fuck if you want.
I do not want to call her that. I prefer a word that does not get used on the Dope, not even in the Pit.
Asshole?
As an aside, I think we should all be using that word more, including when referring to women. “Asshole” is one of the only nongendered, nondiscriminatory anatomical insults. Every has one, everyone can be one.
I have it on good authority that Kim Jong Un does not have one.
I’ll bet the peanuts and coke thing happened…once
I’ve met lots of people who’ve said words to the effect of “Growing up, we only had X” and then if you ask about it it turns out to be an anecdote of a specific experience. Which doesn’t mean they didn’t grow up poor, just that it may not be a representative example.
You know when you’ve met someone who grew up in extreme food poverty because they’ll talk about that one really good dinner that time
It’s not unlike some of the con artists online who claim they can survive without eating by breathing the air.
Of course, on closer inspection, they admit they occasionally eat something for the flavor or the sensation. But not to draw sustenance. Nope.
I grew up poor, and although I never had to subsist on coke and peanuts, I did have to suffer through lesser brand pop: Jolly Good, Little Chute, Shasta. gah. I knew we were out of poverty when we could buy real Coke!
“Commentators for conservative media like The Blaze, QAnon, Infowars and Gab have been sharing what they describe as the benefits of raw milk, according to an analysis from left-leaning Media Matters.”
Well, that just figures.
Sadly, I think there is a certain amount of Darwinism in that raw milk movement.
Yes. Science doesn’t care what you believe.
Though I admit, i don’t understand a political movement that has as a result the death of large numbers of its followers.
It’s just so typical. Let the CDC issue a warning about… anything.
Then watch conservatives jump all over that thing as it were some kind of miracle that The Government is trying to supress.
The whole “The government doesn’t want you to know…” thing. LOL We should be telling them “The government doesn’t want you to sit-out this upcoming Presidential election.”
That’s the great thing about science. It’s true whether you believe it or not.
