NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3)

Okay, I’m missing something. How is this Chinese national working in the U.S. if he doesn’t have a green card? Could he not be deported for doing this? Or are “green cards” and the sort of temporary work permits two different things? Please enlighten.

He’s got an H1B visa and is likely working up to the point of getting a green card, i.e. permanent US residency. Or at least trying to. It can take a decade or more these days, once you start the process.

Someone should challenge this law in court.

The Indiana QOP has rejected its own gubernatorial nominee’s running mate, and replaced him as their lt. governor nominee with a megachurch pastor who says the 1/6 insurrection was God’s will.

Sen. Rand Paul accelerated his case [today] that the coronavirus pandemic likely originated from a lab leak in Wuhan, China, castigating government scientists for continually concealing information favorable to that conclusion more than four years after the outbreak.

Trump is in town. One of the people doing a speech said “One of the last times President Trump was in this area he was with me in Kenosha, and we saw firsthand what happened when democratic policies are put forward: Failure to stand with the men and women of law enforcement.”

He’s talking about Kyle Rittenhouse shooting a bunch of people that were protesting a police shooting.

Then if I’m reading this right, Trump managed to contradict himself in a pre-recorded video.

A video of Trump played on large TVs for a second time around 1:00 p.m. In the video, Trump said he would “once and for all secure our elections. We are going to go to paper ballots, we’re going to have same-day voting, voter ID,” Trump said.

Trump then said Republicans must use “every appropriate tool” to beat Democrats. “Whether you vote early, absentee by mail, or in-person, we are going to protect the vote.”

The Wisconsin GOP leader, commenting on an unresolved RNC issue is already planting the seed that if things go sideways, it’s because the left benefits from it:

“It’s important for us, and it’s important, frankly, for the City of Milwaukee and for the region to have a smooth-running convention,” Schimming said. “Nobody benefits by having a mess, except the hardcore left.”

The issue at hand is where the protestors will be allowed to protest from during the RNC. For obvious reasons, the left wants to be as close as possible and the right wants them as far away as possible and then this has to be reconciled with with 1A.

At one point during Trump’s Manhattan trial, Trump was claiming, without evidence, that the MAGA demonstrators were being kept away from the courthouse and they should be allowed to get closer, while at the same time the RNC is working to keep protestors away.

Conflicting contradictory statements and blatant hypocrisy is a Republican platform plank at this point.

It’s like they’re now required to do it.

Convict Donald’s newest policy announcement: OBEY ME OR SUFFER.

I considered opening a thread where we could all post examples of Republicans not being hypocrites, but then I figured it wouldn’t get any replies so didn’t bother.

To be fair, I think he’s suggesting that his leadership would be better for business than Biden’s. Which is stupid, but not maniacally threatening.

In that case, how about his literally declaring he’s going to produce lebensraum by getting rid of the brown people?

Hey, I never said he wasn’t maniacally threatening – just that that particular xit wasn’t.

Also setting the very lowest expectations for anything (election, debates, convention) so that when it doesn’t go the way they plan, it’s not their fault - they told you the libs would fuck it up.

Its one of his “I’m not touching you posts”, where he is actively threatening, but leaves himself enough wiggle room to claim that its purely innocent and his critics are over reacting.

That’s because they’re emulating their idol.

I don’t even think of it as hypocrisy at this point.
MAGA is completely tribal and has no real principles.

So, if you’re MAGA, you should be free to do absolutely anything, including things which would otherwise be considered against the law or immoral.
If you don’t belong to that tribe, then all freedoms should be taken away from you, and consider yourself grateful that you are being allowed to live at all.

Like being a made man:

All classrooms in Louisiana must have the 10 Commandments displayed in them.

They could at least post them in the original Judeo-Christian (sic):

I see the ACLU has already filed a suit.

What is it with these fucking people? They’re just so damn awful about everything.
