NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3)

J.D. Vance doesn’t look at or believe in polls. I don’t look at them either, but his boss certainly loves polls, and pushing them away seems foolish.

Trump has decided that he no longer has to stay on topic during his speeches since the Obamas made fun of him.

Trump doesn’t like being asked for a cite. I hope more reporters do the same thing:

Standing under a banner that read “Make America Safe Again” on Tuesday, Trump spoke about law and order and a so-called “Kamala crime wave” occurring at levels “nobody has ever seen before.” But when journalists tried to ask him about that claim, he got scared.

Clearly, the pointed insults are doing exactly what they were meant to do. The matador was quite deft with that red cape.

MAGA geniuses may just have achieved the energizing of a pro-Harris, anti-Trump crusader:

Nice goin’, guys!

Yeah, nobody gets married in June!

Perhaps he’s accusing Walz of infringing on National Cheese Day? Wisconsin folks get testy about those things.

It’s the Daily Mail. Right-wing gibberish is pretty much their stock in trade.

This isn’t a stupid republican idea of the day, but I think the posters in this thread will enjoy it.

Yeah. I got married in May.

I found out much later that the date was the eleventh anniversary of the day 10cc released the single “I’m Not in Love.” That was my wife’s doing. Maybe I need to do some investigating of my own.

Nothing much happened historically the day I got married. Hmm, that seems suspiciously bland.

Who’s Sam Reich?

I know who Robert Reich is and I like him. But I missed the whole point of why that video was posted in this thread. And by the way, haven’t we talked about just posting videos without giving people any idea what they’re about. I don’t normally click into videos. I did this one, but I still don’t get it.

Robert Reich’s son.
Robert’s tweets get reposted here somewhat frequently.

I read this thread all the time but I missed that.

In the pit?

I don’t know about the pit, but as a courtesy anywhere, I think someone posting a video link should say what it’s about. So sue me. :woman_shrugging:t4:

Here is a gift link to a NYT article from today*. It recounts how DJ Grump proudly proclaimed that talking policy was something he wasn’t going to do.

"“They always say, ‘Sir, please stick to policy. Don’t get personal,’” Mr. Trump said. “And yet they’re getting personal all night long, these people. Do I still have to stick to policy?”

The crowd responded with a resounding “No.” Later, Mr. Trump looked to his supporters to help validate his approach, taking an informal poll of whether he should “get personal” or “not get personal.” The first option was met with an eruption of cheers. The second was greeted with a faint smattering of applause.

“My advisers are fired,” Mr. Trump joked. “No. We’d rather keep it on policy. But sometimes it’s hard when you’re attacked from all ends.”

Read and be amused (or frightened)

*apologies if this article has been posted elsewhere

You love to see it. The Democrats are playing Lyin’ Cryin’ Donald like a fiddle because he absolutely has to have the last word and is too stupid to realize he’s being baited into relitigating old grievances over and over instead of staying on message or advocating for policy.

So Trump is talking about talking about policy. He probably thinks that counts.

OK, so who’s Robert Reich? Why should I care what Robert says about Sam?
