How are the MAGA politicians putting my hypothetical family members in danger, going to get my vote? “My”, referring to people that were undecided and/or weren’t planning to vote?
Putting your constituents in harm’s way isn’t likely to earn you too many votes. I feel like anyone who would vote MAGA after their family members decided to ride out a hurricane on the advice on those same MAGA politicians was probably already going to vote that way.
The state of West Virginia will refuse to recognize the election of the Democrat candidate if the Republican candidate is the subject of legal actions that preclude their effective campaigning…
Which is about what I expect from the “party of law and order.”
I don’t think the caller wanted anyone to help solve his problems. He just wanted someone to listen and sympathize. It’s a very human need, and he might not have had anyone he knows in person who would be sympathetic.
Simple. The family members wouldn’t have been in a position for the MAGA politicians to put them in danger if the Demonrats hadn’t conjured up the hurricane in the first place.
The choice this election cycle is simple, and I’ll spell it out for those of you who are blind to reality. On the one hand you have the Mighty Trump, Champion of the Common Man and MAGA Savior. On the other, according to televangelist Kenneth Copeland you have evil homosexual lesbian spirits. It’s a simple decision.
JD Vance has said it is “deranged” and “very crazy” for women not to have children due to concerns about the climate crisis in his latest comments wading in on the choices of childfree Americans.
&
“What I was definitely trying to illustrate ultimately in a very inarticulate way is that I do think that our country has become almost pathologically anti-child,” he said.
No, you oatmeal-brained twerp, the country is not anti-child. Your political party is.
During a town hall in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Thursday, Vance made a weirdly hostile joke after a woman in the audience fell down, letting out a shriek of terror.
Vance stood up and walked over to see what had happened, while security rushed to her. “We OK?” Vance asked. There was a moment of silence and awkward laughter from the crowd.
“Kamala Harris built this platform behind us, that’s what happened,” Vance joked, and the audience started to laugh and clap.
Eggs-zackly. They’re anti-child but pro-fetus. Once that child is born, it’s on its own. And the parents better not expect any special treatment either.
They’re not even pro-fetus. They’re pro-suffering, but not their suffering. The fetus is merely the weapon of choice to inflict that suffering on certain people.
I just want to point out, I don’t know or assume Graham is gay. He says he isn’t, and I don’t care except when a politician makes a point of being against homosexuality while being closeted. Then it’s the hypocrisy that bugs me.
But my point was calling out Vance for his sexism as much as his party hypocrisy. Notice that his rant is against childless cat ladies. Notice his focus on women who don’t have children. But he has nothing to say against men who don’t have children or aren’t married, or on this topic are gay. Somehow he blames women for choosing not to have children, but did he say anything, ever, about men who don’t have children?
He voted for DOMA, against repealing DADT, and in favor of a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage AND civil unions, has argued as recently as 2022 that Obergefell should be reversed, and says “religious liberty” justifies discriminating against gays. He’s fair game.
They certainly used to be, or were so considered by many people when I lived out in SLC.
There was a Pat Bagley cartoon that showed someone – presumably a minister - going up to a Coke machine and saying “Heal!”, and suddenly the Coke machine read “Caffeine-free Coke”.
They also said that BYU started putting in Coke machines after decaffeinated Coke came out.
And, yeah, I know the Word of Wisdom doesn’t say a thing about caffeine. But I’m sure you know the history of popular interpretation of the WoW as well as or better than I do.
Except I have nothing to go on except his mannerisms and tone of voice, and his lack of being married. I’m not going to start rumors based on that. If he’s found with his pants down in an airport restroom (like some other political figures), or he’s caught with a dick in his mouth, I’ll concede he’s a bit gay. Otherwise, I have no reason to infer or imply he is.
(Notice I’ve tried to avoid negative language like “accuse”, because that implies being gay is wrong, and I don’t support that view.)
