NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3)

Here is the photo itself, it’s not too hard to imbed photos like this into a thread for easy viewing:

No actual evidence that this person was a Republican/MAGAt

but it seems pretty likely.

Always was worried about places that have ballot drop boxes just sitting out unguarded 24/7, too easy a target.

I didn’t worry before. Frankly, now I prefer to mail my ballot.

At the risk of repeating myself from another thread:

Please make sure your ballot is accounted for, and consider dropping it inside the courthouse, auditor’s or elections office, or other safeguarded location. Track your ballot at Track Your Ballot or Ballot Application - Vote.org

The dropbox I use has a camera next to the slot. I always wave after dropping off the ballot.

Just a Dumbass Vance is pretending that he doesn’t know about the racist joke from the rally he attended and spoke at and which has been headline news in every paper and on every channel.

Please help me here. Apparently I use a different language, because this headline makes no sense to me. How do you “fire” a landlord? In the language I am accustomed to, “landlord” means “guy who owns the place”. Is there a different dialect where it means something else?

I’m guessing that by “landlord” they mean “property manager”, which to a resident isn’t all that different.

ETA, I picked a random article and found this “70-year-old Charles Pierce, was fired from his job as the landlord of an apartment complex”. So I’m guessing he was the property manager for the apartment, not the owner.

This. I’ve only heard it used to mean the on-point individual considered the property manager of a non-residential building (in addition of course to someone who actually owns a property), but I’ve heard it called that often enough that I’ve started a thread on it before.

Yeah, when I was living in apartments, the person you gave your rent check to every month was the landlord. Whether or not they actually owned the place was irrelevant.

Laura Loomer is raging at Marjorie Taylor Greene for (checks notes) being racist to AOC and defending Tony Hinchcliffe.

I am so tired of the feigned ignorance from this bunch.

“I never heard the joke.”
“I don’t know anything about Project 2025.”

Maybe show at least a sliver of inquisitiveness and LOOK INTO IT. People are associating these racist jokes and evil plans with you. You might want to check it out.

(I mean, I know they’re lying, but c’mon… lie better.)

I was actually somewhat familiar with the Saville debacle but not about the necrophilia and… well, after some digging… yeah. Apparently he raped corpses as well. Where’s the vomit smilely?

 :face_vomiting:

OK, so what was the racist joke?

It was actually a number of racist jokes.

The one that is getting the press is this.

And, you know, there’s a lot going on. Like, I don’t know if you guys know this, but there’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. Yeah. I think it’s called Puerto Rico.

But other kneeslappers include.

And these Latinos, they love making babies too, just know that. They do. They do. There’s no pulling out. They don’t do that. They come inside, just like they did to our country.

On Black Americans,

Cool black guy with a thing on his head. What the hell is that, a lampshade? Look at this guy. Oh my goodness. Wow. I’m just kidding. That’s one of my buddies. We had a Halloween party last night. We had fun. We carved watermelons together. It was awesome.

On the Middle East crisis,

“Settle your stuff already. Best out of three. Rock, paper, scissors. You know the Palestinians are going to throw rock every time. But you also know the Jews have a hard time throwing that paper.” You know what I’m saying?

Presumably using “Throwing paper” as slang for spending money.

Meanwhile Karoline Leavitt, Trumps spokesperson, got on Fox and said that it doesn’t reflect poorly on the Trump campaign and is no big deal, using as evidence

“The crowd, they didn’t mind, right? "

Ya know Ms Levitt saying that the crowd was OK with an obviously racist joke is not helping to make your case that it was an aberration and does,t represent the views of Trump supporters.

In his joke, Hinchcliffe, known for his comedy podcast Kill Tony, said: “There’s a lot going on. I don’t know if you know this but there’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico.”
Tony Hinchcliffe: Backlash after comedian at Trump rally calls Puerto Rico 'island of garbage'

Damn ninjas!!!

If I were a journalist interviewing one of these chucklefucks, my immediate response to the “I haven’t heard about X” would be to roll the clip and say “So now that you have heard it, what do you think about it?”

Greg Gutfeld says that actually Puerto Rico is a floating pile of garbage after all.

“Packs” MSG? I looked at the image: it showed a lot of empty seats. In the front of the lower level.
