NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 4)

The real question to ask is why no one was charged with anything. It’s legitimate to wonder if they were dragging their feet, or if they were just on the cusp of major arrests when Trump shut them down. How long would such an investigation be expected to take?

At least, unlike Ashley Todd, she was smart enough to have someone else do the writing, rather than doing it in the mirror.

No-win situation.

As we’ve discussed elsewhere one of the Biden/Garland DOJ’s biggest flaws was their obsessive avoidance of ANY possible accusation of political targeting.

And it’s important to keep this in mind for the next few months. The current suspicion is the DOJ will attempt to delay or refuse to release all the files or selectively release what they want with the excuse there are other “open” investigations, potentially against Democrats and other ‘undesirables’.

At least it’s known to be a distinct possibility, so it’s on Congressional Democrats and the judiciary not to let them play their stupid games with it.

We’ve now gone full-circle from 22 years ago and are back on “Starting a war with an oil-exporting company will make gas cheaper”.

Is it still legitimate to wonder once the answer has been given?

Well, it’s really “Conquering an oil-exporting country and seizing their oil will make gas cheaper.”

Of course the thick goop pumped out of Venezuela can’t really be made into gasoline. But it will make ship fuel cheaper. If only the USA had merchant ships. Oops. Maybe we can sell it to the Russian navy. I hear the criminal in chief likes being paid for his largesse in both gold & rubles.

I wonder if it will be Scott Bessent or some other Trumper who will “reveal” that Maduro has been trying to buy yellowcake from Niger…

(Better make it someone who will pronounce that last name somewhere in the neighborhood of “correctly.”)

For a rare change of pace, a GOOD Republican idea: MTG is leaving Congress in January.

I can hardly wait to find out what her next grift is. Not.

Why does the phrase, “Rats abandoning a sinking ship?”, spring to mind?

Here’s a citation for that:

Trump supporters think the Trump-appointed head of the FBI is covering up a conspiracy to assassinate Trump.

Finest public service she could possibly provide.

I may be old-fashioned but isn’t Marjorie Taylor Greene meant to be in Congress to represent her constituents? She should be able to do that whether or not she’s feuding with Trump.

Remember, her constituent is Putin. If she’s turning on him, it means that Putin no longer considers him useful.

Of course he is.

Despite being obviously male and presumably cis-het, Patel is neither white nor loudly fundamentalist Xian. Therefore utterly untrustworthy and obviously part of at least one, if not several, fifth columns intending to derail the great Destiny of MAGAmerica,

It’ll all make sense as soon as Trump needs a scapegoat for something and tosses him under the bus. I’m thinking as soon as the Epstein files come out, he’ll be fired for being part of the hoax, because the Epstein files are a hoax and Trump needs to make sure to fire him for being part of the hoax and releasing the hoax files that are a hoax.
Did he mention it’s all a hoax? Firing Patel for being part of the hoax will make sure his base is angry at Patel for being part of the hoax and releasing the hoax files instead of looking at the actual files themselves. Plus, he’ll get to use the word hoax like a hundred times a day for a little while.
Or he’ll be fired for being a DEI hire.

Both of those options, I think, are also available for Pam Bondi.

To be somewhat fair, her constituents by quite a large margin are also Trump supporters. It’s how she keeps getting elected despite her obvious personal and political deficiencies.

Perhaps she thought erroneously (see above about deficiencies) her constituents were actually loyal to some hypothetical MAGA ‘cause’ rather than Trump directly, but I suspect she’s now been disabused of that notion by those same constituents and, perhaps more likely, by the network of right wing money that had at least until recently been flowing to her

The rats left long ago. We’re down to slime mold.
My apologies to any moldies out there.
