The waitress next to us was suitably outraged by the “injustice”. She now thinks everyone’s getting ridiculous amounts (if they’re the right color, no doubt). It never occurred to her to fact-check it. Sadly, I couldn’t hear the conversation from my side of the table, but my companion filled me after we left.
I always tell people that if they think living off the dole is so easy, they should quit their job and try it.
Kash Patel has been ordering FBI agents to give his girlfriend’s drunk buddies rides home from the club.
Has there ever been a more shameless, disgraceful grifter in charge of the FBI?
Wait til Trump fires Patel and appoints himself to the position.
The other day, The Daily Show ran a segment about Kash Patel including a clip of someone named Miranda Devine telling the Fox News anchor that when Kash Patel flew into Provo Utah after Charlie Kirk was murdered that Patel refused to get off the plane until they found him an FBI-branded rain jacket (medium size).
I think when even Fox News is running critical reports about a member of this administration, that’s a sign that a person is not long for the role.
I’ve been thinking a bit about the dichotomy we see in society that I think has been increasing of late.
One group of people have a pre-determined conclusion in mind, and find any way possible to convince others to arrive at this same conclusion; emotional arguments, logical fallacies, flattery, whatever it takes. There is no objective reality, there is just a system where if you can get more people to believe your story, you win. There is nothing that can sway them from their story/conclusion. (Lawyers can sometimes fall into this category)
Another group believes that there is an objective reality out there, separate from our human feelings about it. They strive to use logical reasoning, experimentation and critical thinking to determine what the story might be. And if they don’t find enough factual support, it’s possible for them to change their minds. Scientists sometimes fall into this category.
The first group often cannot FATHOM how someone can change their minds about something. This is an anathema to them; it’s equivalent to “losing”.
The second group cannot FATHOM how someone could think there is no objective reality, and that there are “winners and losers” in determining reality.
These two worlds have a very difficult time living together in harmony.
Trump isn’t having any trouble finding his own grifting opportunities.
I say Patel gets the ax and his job is given to Marco Rubio.

Oh I know Trump is busy doing his own grifting. I just meant that Patel is a rank amateur in comparison.
He’s certainly rank (but what do you expect? He’s a thug for the America-hating fuckstick).
A toast: Confusion to our enemies!
ISTM that “gay” might be the one slur that could be hurled at an RW agitator that could both stick and really spin them out of the MAGA spotlight. MAGA hates them some gays.
In public, anyway.
Self-loathing is central to their brand.
In his ongoing effort to Make America Healthy Again, RFK Jr is re-allowing asbestos in cosmetics.
What possible benefit is there to doing that? Do brain worms like asbestos or something?
Public benefit? Probably none
But there was probably a check with a lot of zeros involved, so somebody is making out well. Seems to be a common theme these days
Another reason to justify my not wearing make-up anymore.
But think of how many women will be saved from having their faces burned off.
The benefit is “getting the government off my back”.
MAGA loves the sound of that until they get harmed by the absence of some particular regulation. Even then they lack the attention span to connect the effect back to the cause.
