She’s fiercely opposed to pro-Palestine protests, so much that she literally called for students protesting on behalf of Palestine to be killed (and called them “monsters”). She wants to end drag queen story hour events, and opposed all Covid vaccine mandates. She’s a fucking horrible human being in every way.
She certainly seems to wear her opinions on her sleeve. Definitely truth in advertising.
And yet she got elected in NYC.
I sorta think this is the clear sign the USA has reached its “sell by” date.
NYC is big though, different areas have different politics. She represents one of 51 districts in the city (the 19th, in the northeast corner of Queens). So it’s not like the entire city elected her.
But what’s odd is that her district is mostly registered Democrats; almost exactly 50%, with only 20% of voters registered Republican, so it’s weird that she has won 3 consecutive elections.
Politics is complicated. Somebody sure voted for her.

If Amerika was as cishet Xian White male (narrowly defined) as Vance et al wants there would indeed be far less racial animosity. Though the idjits would still find a way to hate people from the next block over.

Previous generations didn’t have Ethnic grievances? I believe that’s malarky.
I mean….Henry Ford, Charles Lindbergh, and Walt Disney were pretty much open with their antisemitism, as were many other leading public figures of the time. It wasn’t really a dealbreaker in the past. If anything, some species of ethnic hatred, such as against the Irish or Italians, were improved by increased immigration from those groups, not by restricting it.
But that assumes the people heeding the likes of JD Vance actually know history (including their own) or, if they do, actually care about it. Vance of course is aware of all this, but we already know he’s an opportunist and moral coward of the worst stripe.
To be fair, both fonts come free with all versions of Windows, since at least Windows 95.
So it is just going to waste a bunch of tech team support hours explaining to idiots how to set a default font.

There is still such a thing as stationary and other paper documents. Especially in government.
It’s also going to be a waste of a lot of already printed materials and orders for new printed materials. Perhaps not a huge amount in the grand scheme of things but a few million saved and all…especially for a government that was so recently touting (wrongly, as it happens) the billions it saved in “unnecessary” spending
That, and Jews are a necessary prop/set dressing in their Armageddon/Apocalypse myths. So while they don’t want to live next door to us they do want to keep a few of us alive on a reservation somewhere.
It’s going to take policy documents. And if it’s a mandate, it’s going to take either a forced default font to any and all State Department organizations, and it’s going to take someone policing the fonts on the documents. And of course replacing existing printed documents and forms to be compliant.
Are US passports going to have to comply? Do they have to reprint and replace all the passport books for all new passports after the memo?
Admittedly that’s not nearly a expensive as using drones to bomb speedboats off the coast of Venezuela or send ICE agents around the country to spread fear or deploy National Guard troops to major cities too inadvertently demonstrate all those “Second Amendment” nuts are lying about their justification for owning guns. The only tyranny they oppose is the government coming for their guns, probably because they committed a crime and need to be arrested.
But my point is that leaving a font policy in place is cheaper than mandating a change and making a public spectacle about it.
It’s political theater at the taxpayers’ expense in the name of saving money.
