I don’t know about average, but that’s not an unusual quantity of milk for an 8th grader, at least spread out. Between breakfast, lunch, and breaks, I was probably doing roughly that quantity at that age.
Having a full quart during a single meal is a bit much, though. I knew some fellows in college who did that, but they were pretty big - like 6’ 6” and physically active. But a quart of any beverage during a single meal is a bit much for most folks.
My daughter is in 6th grade and goes through 1-2 gallons a week easily. But she is constantly drinking milk, and has since she was little. She rarely wants to drink anything else. We get 2.5 gallons delivered by our local dairy farmers every other week (five 1/2 gallon cartons), she drinks pretty much all of it, and we still run out and have to grab extra milk from the grocery store before the next delivery each time.
My daughter is not average though. I’m sure she drinks a lot more than the average kid. You might call her the exception that proves the rule.
If they’re not getting any significant amount of calcium from veggies, they’re not getting nearly enough of them, which is likely to have much more serious health implications.
But yeah, a quart at lunch is a lot. Most of my milk consumption has always been with my breakfast cereal, before I got to school. This would be added on top of that.
Trump said the federal government would provide money directly to individuals
But
White House officials have not said how much money would be provided to Americans
Big surprise there.
“The big insurance companies lose, and the people of our country win,” Trump said.
And since we know he would never do anything for the people instead of for the big insurance companies, we know this is bullshit.
He claims the policy would reduce prices for some drugs by as much as 80% or more.
Just 80%, fucking liar promised me 1500% off.
Trump criticized the Affordable Care Act, calling it the “Unaffordable Care Act.”
"The premiums went higher and higher, "
I wonder if there’s any reason for that? It seems odd that it didn’t happen until Trump was in office.
I want to end this flagrant scam and put extra money straight into the healthcare savings account
There it is…he doesn’t give a shit about health care, he just wants to make sure as many people as possible have a “Trump Savings Account”. Didn’t we just do this with some other Trump branded savings accounts for kids?
Interesting that he’s been talking about his new health care plan for a decade and he finally makes an actual announcement in the middle of ICE protests. I wonder if TPTB at Fox told him they need a new distraction from ICE murdering people.
Yes, of course. It’s of a piece with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick declaring that NO senior would ever complain about not getting their Social Security payment----unless they were getting it via fraud.
Because “real people’s” Social Security payments are merely mad money—extra cash of no real importance compared to their usual monthly income.
Trump’s nominee for ambassador to Iceland is facing calls from Icelanders to refuse his credentials after he “joked” that Trump should annex Iceland and make him governor.
“Bow down and worship, you stupid fucking Icelandic pukes, I’m the new ambassador from the US of A!!! Let’s get some diplomacy going with some hookers and blow, and I’ll show you why they call me Billy Long.”
NUUK, Greenland (AP) — Troops from European countries, including France and Germany, are arriving in Greenland to boost security. This comes as talks in Washington on Wednesday between Denmark, Greenland and the U.S. highlighted disagreements over Greenland’s future. French President Emmanuel Macron announced the deployment of French troops, with Germany sending a reconnaissance team on Thursday. Denmark is also increasing its military presence. The talks focused on U.S. intentions to take over Greenland for its mineral resources amid rising Russian and Chinese interest. Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen expressed concerns over Trump’s intentions. Greenlanders remain uncertain about the future.
…before the one you serve, you’re going to get what you deserve.
That’s gonna be stuck in my head for the rest of the night, but I think it works quite well for this thread.
In response to a proposed bill before the WA legislature that would require elected sheriffs to meet the same professional standards as the police officers under their command, the sheriff of Pierce County (which includes Tacoma) addressed the legislature today to say “You’re not the boss of me and if you try to tell me what to do I’ll organize a mob to overthrow the government”.
