Until he was selected for the half-time show and this BS blew up I had no idea who Bad Bunny was and couldn’t recall a single bit of music I could connect with him. Not all of us are tuned in to the latest thing.

As I don’t understand more than a word or two of Spanish I have no clue about the lyrics, but the passion and emotion come through just fine. I usually listen to other genres (hence my lack of knowledge of him) but he was a fine choice for the half-time show.
I can understand someone not knowing who Bad Bunny was. What I found objectionable was the visceral rejection that was clearly based on bigotry.

Honestly, before he was selected for the halftime show, I cannot say I had ever heard of him either. I’m not a fan of reggaetón (thanks spell check). After watching (most of) the show, I still cannot say I’m a fan, but I respect talent and that guy has got talent by the truckload.
I watched the whole thing and had exactly that reaction. Had never heard of him, but I like him & his work. Will happily seek his stuff out now.
FTR I do listen to lots of current music, and a decent amount of Latin. I’m not sure how I missed him, except by not noticing who did a song that happened to play on one of my channels.
I feel about Bad Bunny like I feel about opera. I have no idea what the fuck they’re singing, but it sounds pretty good, and I enjoy it.
I’m curious if anyone ever brought up the idea of opera to those racist shitbags acting like Bad Bunny is going to destroy the country. Ask them how often they go to opera houses and demand thar they only sing in English.
