NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 4)

Then they’ll deserve what they get, good and hard. It’s just too bad the rest of us will get it too.

I have to quibble a bit with your timeline. Calling the opposition scoundrels and poltroons has been an integral part of US politics practically from the get-go, and it took on new vehemence in the 1920s due to the post-WWI “Red scare,” then again in the McCarthy era. But it really took off when Nixon became President, in no small part because he couldn’t see any distinction between an opponent and an “enemy.” The GQP has never retreated from that stance, and Reagan only reinforced it.

Well, they certainly learned from Nixon:

When caught, Double down, never admit an error.
Protect the Dear Leader at all costs.
Shred shred shred the evidence.
Don’t deny there is an enemies list - publish it and use the DOJ to persecute them.
Shred the evidence again.

Erasing history from National Parks - I guess to make more room for statues for traitors?

Gaze in Awe as this guy manages to fellate two stupid Republican presidents at once:

Mike Lawler: “He is not bluffing. People misunderestimate at their own peril.”

What a maroon.

It’s almost accurate. I’d say “He may or may not be bluffing. People estimate him at all at their own peril.”

Because he truly is a random diceroll of crazed defective mental impulses he’s not only hard to predict; he’s impossible to predict.

As one commenter said, we’re not agreeing with him, he’s agreeing with us.

I’m not sure who you / they mean by “we”, “him”, “he” and “us”.

Trump isn’t bluffing. Bluffing implies a calculated lie made in the full knowledge of the real truth.

Trump is just bullshitting as usual. He says what he wants to say at any given moment which may or may not coincidentally align with the truth from time to time, even if he contradicts what he’s just said a moment before. This is often due to the influence of the last person he’s spoken to.

It’s not calculated. He’s operating purely on amygdala and brain stem these days, steered by assorted Wormtongues with their own malign agendas.

Even a blind squirrel can find an acorn once in a while.

Wow man, that was beautiful! (riffs on bongo drums)

Nancy Mace really has her finger on the pulse of what’s important to the American people these days.

There’s no tax on interest in general. Including boat loan interest. There’s also no tax break on consumer interest in general; mortgages being the big surviving exception.

So I wonder what the hell she’s talking about?

I read that to mean she wants interest on boat loans to be tax deductible.

That’s certainly the obvious logical thought abut any tax dodge for voters: make [whatever] tax deductible.

I’m unwilling to do any searching that might increase the supply of MAGA stupidity delivered to me, so researching what she’s actually saying or doing is off limits for me.

I think one of the things most needed today is some sort of cloaking device to prevent your Google, et al, dossier from receiving any inputs whatsoever about your searching or browsing or viewing. Obviously impossible, but a guy can wish.

That way lies madness. There are things we are not meant to know.

RFK Jr. should be removed from any responsibility in healthcare.

I hope some other nation continues mRNA research if we’re too fucking stupid to do it.
